We are looking for a reliable, skilled video editor to join our team and edit videos for our true crime YouTube channel.
Example channel for reference style:
You’re a great fit if:
- You’re self-motivated and meet deadlines consistently (2-3 days per video).
- You respond to communication promptly and professionally.
- You’re not doing basic edits — your work mirrors channels like the one above.
- You intuitively understand pacing, suspense, and how to craft a strong hook and intro to drive watch time.
- You know YouTube's rules/policies regarding true crime and what is not allowed on YouTube.
- Your sound design is dialed in — transitions, ambience, and dialogue clarity are second nature.
- Your audio levels are smooth and consistent across long runtimes.
Details:
- Video length: 50–60min
- Rate: TBD
- Frequency: 2 videos per week
- Opportunity to grow into long-term permanent role for the right person
Note regarding the rate, the editing process is intensive for the hook only, then the rest of the video involves minimal editing (see example channel above).
This is not a beginner-level job. We’re looking for experienced editors who take pride in their craft and enjoy working autonomously.
No agencies/teams. Solo freelancers only.
To apply, attach links to relevant work of yours in your cover letter, and start your message with the word chocolate. (Applications won't be considered without either of these). Thanks
