Jeong X is a social + content agency that builds and runs “money models” for expert, education, and news brands. Our clients are serious operators who publish a lot of content and care about real business results, not vanity metrics.

We’re hiring a full‑time Video Editor to join our remote team.
This is a production-heavy editing role: you’ll be cutting YouTube videos, short‑form clips (Reels/TikTok/Shorts), and simple graphics‑heavy pieces using our templates and SOPs. The most important traits are: you learn fast, you don’t repeat the same mistake twice, and you communicate clearly.

What you’ll do
You will:
* Edit short‑form videos (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) from talking‑head or news clips:
* Cut for pace and retention.
* Add captions, simple graphics, b‑roll, music, and sound effects using our templates.
* Edit long‑form videos (YouTube, podcasts, educational / documentary content) based on scripts and story outlines.
* Follow brand guidelines and SOPs for each client:
* Fonts, colors, layouts, pacing rules, thumbnails (when needed).
* Collaborate with social media managers, motion designers, and other editors:
* Take feedback, apply notes quickly, and update future edits based on what you’ve learned.
* Prepare clean exports and organized project files for review and publishing.

This role is not about crazy VFX or advanced 3D. We care most about strong storytelling, pacing, and clean execution at volume.

What success looks like (first 90 days)
By month 3, you:
* Consistently deliver multiple edits per day at our quality bar.
* Rarely repeat the same mistake twice once it has been documented.
* Maintain a high “clean pass” rate (most edits approved with minimal changes).
* Communicate proactively about progress, blockers, and deadlines.
* Can take a new client’s SOP and match their style quickly without constant supervision.

Must‑have
* Strong experience editing for YouTube and/or social video (send links to your best work).
* Solid sense of pacing, storytelling, and rhythm:
* You know how to cut out fluff and keep viewers watching.
* Comfortable with basic motion and graphics:
* Captions, simple transitions, on‑screen text, reframes, zooms.
* Learns fast:
* You can read a style guide, watch a few examples, and quickly match the look/feel.
* Doesn’t repeat mistakes:
* When you get feedback, you apply it not just to that edit, but to all future edits.
* Reliable communication:
* Responds during agreed work hours.
* Gives daily updates on what’s done, what’s in progress, and what’s stuck.
* Fluent in English - reading, writing, and speaking
* Stable internet and a machine that can handle modern 4K editing workloads.

Nice to have
* Experience editing news, commentary, or documentary‑style content.
* Thumbnail experience (designing or collaborating on concepts).
* Basic color correction and audio cleanup skills.
* Familiarity collaborating with motion designers and following their graphics packs.

Tools you’ll use
* Primary: Adobe Premiere Pro
* Also helpful: After Effects for simple motion
* Communication via Slack, Notion, and Google Drive.
