## A Note From Our Founder
Our productions tell stories that matter — nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, conferences that move people. We need a video editor who understands that the edit is where those stories either land or get lost. If you care about craft, deadlines are non-negotiable for you, and you get genuinely excited about new tools instead of threatened by them, this is your seat.
— Artem Nikulkov, Founder
## Who We Are
Earth Coast Productions is a Colorado-based live events and media production company with 15 years of experience. We specialize in live broadcasting, livestreaming, and full AV production for nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, and B-Corps. Every production we deliver is built around one idea: the content from a single event should fuel a brand's story for months.
## How We Work
**Editing at ECP starts with emotion, not footage.** Before the first cut, our editors name the emotion the piece needs to produce, and every select, trim, and pacing decision gets tested against it. Setup grounds the viewer, the emotional core carries the runtime, the meaning lands the close. A technically clean cut with dead energy loses to a slightly looser one that is alive — and a pause that is doing emotional work is content, not dead air. We have written SOPs built around this philosophy, and you will be trained on them. If this way of thinking about the edit resonates with you, you will fit here.
We are also an AI-forward shop, and this is not a buzzword for us — it is how the pipeline actually runs. We already use tools like Claude Code, OpusClip, and Eddie AI in our workflow, and as new AI-native video tools come online, we WILL fold them into our process. You do not need to know every tool on day one. You do need to be curious, adaptable, and quick to learn — the editor who thrives here is the one who asks "what can this do for the edit?" instead of "why are we changing things again?"
We edit in DaVinci Resolve, and we give preference to editors who do too. Strong Premiere editors willing to work in Resolve will be considered, but Resolve-native applicants go to the top of the pile.
## What You Will Actually Do
- Edit event recap videos (5–15 minutes) from raw multi-camera footage
- Cut 90-second highlight reels for post-event delivery
- Edit documentary-style interview and testimonial pieces from field-flagged selects — our crews hand off footage with flagged sound bites, multiple takes, and a named target emotion, so you build from organized material, not a raw drive
- Turn each event into a full social content package: vertical clips and reels for Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Add captions, subtitles, motion graphics, lower thirds, and text overlays
- Repurpose keynote
- Learn and adopt new AI-native editing tools as we integrate them into the pipeline
- Manage file organization and delivery through our cloud system
- Flag footage issues or missing assets before the edit begins
- Communicate proactively on deadlines and deliverable timelines
## What Success Looks Like
- Recap videos delivered within 5 business days of the event
- Highlight reels delivered within 2 weeks of the event
- A complete social clip package (8–12 clips) delivered per event
- Every piece produces its intended emotion and meets ECP's visual and storytelling standard
- New tools in our stack are picked up and put to work, not avoided
- Zero missed deadlines without prior communication
- Proactive communication on every project
## What We Are Looking For
**Required:**
- 2 or more years of professional video editing experience
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve strongly preferred — Resolve editors will be given preference over any other NLE
- Proven short-form / social video editing experience (reels, Shorts, TikTok-style cuts, vertical formats)
- Genuine curiosity about AI editing tools and demonstrated willingness to adopt new workflows
- Experience editing event, corporate, or nonprofit video content
- You edit for emotion first: strong instincts for pacing, storytelling, hooks, and what stops the scroll
- Excellent written English
- A modern editing workstation — latest Apple Silicon (M3/M4 or newer) strongly preferred
- At least 10 TB of available storage for project media
- Reliable high-speed internet capable of handling large multi-camera footage transfers
**Nice to have:**
- Documentary, testimonial, or interview-driven editing experience
- Hands-on experience with AI editing tools (e.g., OpusClip, Eddie AI, Descript, CapCut AI features, or similar)
- Fusion or After Effects motion graphics experience beyond basic templates
- Experience with generative AI video tools such as Runway or Firefly
- Familiarity with ClickUp or similar project management tools
## What We Offer
- Competitive per-project rates, reviewed as event volume grows
- Fully remote and async-first work environment
- A front-row seat to an AI-native production pipeline — you will learn tools here most editors have not touched yet
- Direct collaboration with the founder and production team
- Real creative work supporting mission-driven organizations
- Consistent, recurring project flow — not one-off gigs — as ECP's production volume increases
## Red Flags — Do Not Apply If...
- You have never edited event or live production footage
- You have never cut vertical or short-form social content
- You are resistant to AI tools or prefer to keep editing the way you have always done it
- You cut for technical polish while the emotion falls flat
- Your current setup cannot handle multi-camera 4K timelines or store full event archives
- You miss deadlines without communicating ahead of time
- You need constant direction and do not take initiative
- You struggle with feedback or do not iterate quickly
- You are not comfortable working async and independently
## How to Apply
**Start your application with the code word STORYLINE so we know you read this in full. Applications without the code word will not be reviewed.**
Include the following:
1. A link to your portfolio or 2–3 samples — at least one long-form edit AND at least one vertical/social clip
2. A 1–2 minute video introducing yourself and why this role appeals to you
3. Brief answers to these questions:
- Walk us through your editing process from raw footage to final delivery — and tell us where emotion enters that process.
- What NLE do you edit in day to day, and what is your proficiency level in DaVinci Resolve specifically?
- Tell us about a new tool — AI or otherwise — you recently added to your workflow. Why did you adopt it and what changed?
