We are looking for a talented Video Editor to join the team for our YouTube channel.
We only want SERIOUS applicants, with genuine interest.
We produce high-quality, long-form aviation documentaries. Our content explores everything in the range of aviation. We aren't just looking for someone to "cut clips", we need a storyteller who can use pacing, sound design, and archival footage to create a sense of mystery and tension.
Example channels (these are examples so we don’t want copies of it)
What You Will Be Doing
Cinematic Editing: Creating 15-23 minute documentary-style videos with a "video essay" feel.
Visual Sourcing: Finding high-quality B-roll, historical aviation footage, technical diagrams to explain complex flight concepts, create overlays, animations and motion graphics.
Atmospheric Sound Design: Our videos are using background music but very soft. Only the first 5 seconds should be louder.
Retention Hooks: Crafting intense, "must-watch" openings in the first 60 seconds.
Collaboration: Using Trello to receive scripts/voiceovers and manage feedback.
Who We Are Looking For
The Documentary Specialist: You understand how to maintain interest over a 15 - 23 minute video.
The Technical Eye: You can visually represent what the narrator is saying.
Software: Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or After Effects.
Aviation Interest (Huge Plus): If you know your Boeing from your Airbus, you’ll love this role.
Compensation & Growth
Pilot: We start with a 1-minute test edit to check for style alignment.
Trial Video: $10 for your first full video.
Ongoing Rate: Once established, we move to $15 per video with a consistent workflow of 3 videos per week. Every minute over 23 minutes is an extra $1
We are looking for a long-term partner to grow with the channel.
We will work with extra BONUS if a video does well.
How to apply:
We only review applications from people who pay attention to detail. To apply, please follow these steps:
Start your application with the word "MAYDAY".
Provide links to 1–2 examples of faceless documentary-style videos you have edited (Aviation, History, or Engineering niches are a huge plus).
Write a 2-3 sentence note on what you think makes a "hook" successful in a documentary about an aviation
Confirm your typical turnaround time for a 15-20 minute edit once you receive the voiceover and script.
Note: Applicants who do not include the keyword or samples will be automatically disqualified.
We'll ask you for a sample of a minute with turnaround of max 24h
What you’ll receive
We’ll send you:
The full script and voiceover
Complete and honest feedback
Budget + payment
We pay per video. For this test video, the budget is $10 for a 17-23 minute video with voiceover and B-roll. If the quality is strong and delivery is smooth, we’d love to move into a long-term partnership with more videos per week at a $15 rate for a 17-23minute video.
Payment is released after the final approved edit. The better the channel gets the higher the fee goes per video.
