YouTube Content Strategist & Video Editor (Full-Time)

About Us

We are Crusader Caravans RV Melbourne, one of Australia's leading premium caravan dealerships.

Our goal isn't simply to upload videos.

Our goal is to become Australia's most trusted caravan YouTube channel through high quality educational content that helps people make informed buying decisions.

We're looking for someone who wants to become part of our team for the long term and take ownership of our YouTube growth.

This is much more than a video editing role.

We want someone who understands YouTube.

Each week we'll send you long-form footage recorded by our team in Melbourne.

You'll be responsible for turning that footage into engaging content that performs.

Your responsibilities include:
• Edit long-form YouTube videos (10-30+ minutes)
• Create engaging YouTube Shorts from long-form content
• Produce Facebook, Instagram and TikTok versions where appropriate
• Source relevant B-roll, graphics, sound effects and music
• Add professional captions, callouts and motion graphics
• Improve pacing and audience retention throughout each video
• Create high-performing YouTube thumbnails
• Write SEO-friendly YouTube titles
• Write engaging video descriptions
• Upload-ready metadata including chapters and tags
• Recommend content improvements before editing begins
• Suggest future video ideas based on YouTube trends and analytics

Strategy Responsibilities

This role is equally strategy and editing.

Every month you'll prepare a report including:
• Top performing videos
• Audience retention observations
• Thumbnail recommendations
• Title improvements
• Competitor analysis
• Subscriber growth analysis
• Watch time improvements
• Content opportunities
• Suggested future videos
• New YouTube features we should be using
• Facebook and social media opportunities
• Recommendations to improve production quality

We expect you to actively research what is working within YouTube and provide recommendations rather than waiting for instructions.

You should have:
• Extensive experience editing YouTube videos
• Excellent understanding of YouTube's algorithm
• Strong understanding of viewer retention
• Experience creating high CTR thumbnails
• Excellent English writing skills
• Experience writing YouTube titles and descriptions
• Knowledge of YouTube Studio analytics
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication
• Reliable internet and computer
• Ability to meet agreed deadlines

Bonus points if you have experience in:
• Automotive
• RV or caravan content
• Outdoor lifestyle channels
• Educational YouTube channels
• Facebook video optimisation

Software Experience with one or more of:
• Adobe Premiere Pro
• DaVinci Resolve
• Final Cut Pro
• After Effects
• Photoshop or Canva
