JOB OVERVIEW

No generative AI. This is non-negotiable. If you provide portfolios with AI Videos you will be disqualified immediately. No generative AI tools may be used for any part of this job, including ideas, titles, scripts, edits, voices, images, or thumbnails. Everything you make for this channel must be your own work. Using AI is grounds for immediate termination. If that's a dealbreaker for you, please don't apply. (ai auto captions inside of editing software is acceptable).

I'm Mitchell, a US-based gaming creator behind the Hardscopes brand on social media. I stream on Twitch and turn those streams into YouTube videos and short-form content for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X. I play a mix of games, with a couple as my main anchor games.

I'm looking for one dedicated editor to be my creative partner: someone who edits every video, helps shape what we make, and builds a signature style for the channel with me. This is a long-term role, not a one-off gig. It comes with performance bonuses and a share of YouTube revenue once the channel is monetized, so the better the channel does, the better you do.

If you love gaming content, have strong instincts for what makes a moment worth watching, and want to grow a channel from the ground up, I'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do:

Long-form editing: Edit 2 YouTube videos per week, each 20+ minutes, from my streams. They need to hold attention: a strong first 30 seconds, tight pacing, captions, zooms, and sound design.
Shorts: Produce 3–5 unique Shorts per day, clipped from streams or from the long-form videos. Keep them lightly edited: a strong hook, clean cuts, captions, and background music.
VOD logging: Within 24 hours of each stream, log the best moments with timestamps in a shared sheet.
Idea flagging: While logging, note anything that could become a long-form video or a series.
Titles: Pitch 3–5 title options for each long-form video.
Style: Help build and maintain a consistent, recognizable editing style across every video.

What I handle:

Creating the content: Streaming, recording, and any voiceover or talking-head footage.
Final decisions: Which videos we make, the final titles, and final approval on every edit before it goes live.
Descriptions: I write all descriptions.
Thumbnails: I commission all thumbnails, unless you have experience and want to make them yourself.
Publishing: All scheduling and posting across every platform.
Feedback: Clear notes on each edit so we can dial in the style together.

Requirements:

A portfolio that includes both long-form YouTube edits and Shorts (gaming strongly preferred)
Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve strongly preferred; CapCut is okay with the right experience
Good instincts for which moments are worth clipping and how to hook them fast
Understands retention and average view duration
Strong written English, especially for punchy titles
Plays games and understands gaming culture

Pay: $4/hour, 40 hours/week, plus:

Video bonuses: $25 per long-form video that passes 10,000 views in its first 30 days, and $10 per Short that passes 100k views.
Growth bonus: each time the channel hits a subscriber milestone.
Revenue share: once the channel is monetized, 15% of monthly YouTube ad revenue for as long as you're editing for the channel.
Pay review after 90 days.

What success looks like:

Long-form: 5%+ click-through rate and 40%+ average percentage viewed.
Shorts: At least 20% of Shorts posted each month pass 50k views.
Channel growth: Total channel views grow 25–50% month over month, and the channel gains 1,000 subscribers in the first 90 days.
Stream growth: Average live viewers on Twitch grow every month, driven by viewers who find us on YouTube.
Consistency: Every video is delivered on schedule, in our established style, with no missed weeks.

To apply: Send your portfolio and tell me, in your own words, about your workflow. When speed and volume matter as much as quality, how do you keep your edits high quality? And why are you a good fit for this role? For each portfolio piece, note what you personally edited.
