Ice Cream Sunshine is a good-vibes signature ice cream tour and special events company based in Chicago, Illinois. We take guests on curated walking tours through Chicago's neighborhoods, treat them to delicious ice cream at local shops, share fun facts about the city, and create joyful shared experiences along the way. Good vibes are the core of who we are — and that extends to every person on our team.

Beyond our tours, we're building an experience brand with a fast-growing content and social presence — ice cream reviews, tour highlights, and lifestyle content reaching audiences on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

THE ROLE
We're building an editing team that can help us consistently publish 18–21 high-quality videos per week (up to 3 per day) across our channels — without ever sacrificing story, pacing, or brand feel. You'll be editing content featuring our founder reviewing and reacting to ice cream, tour highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage, produced for both long-form and short-form formats.

This is a partnership, not a task. Our founder has a distinct, quirky, fun on-camera personality, and the right editor develops a genuine feel for that energy and brings creative instincts to every cut. You become the reason great content actually gets out the door, consistently and on time.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Edit ice cream review videos featuring our founder tasting, reacting to, and talking about products — tone is quirky, warm, and fun
- Produce long-form content (horizontal, 1–10 minutes) and short-form content (vertical, under 2 minutes for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok)
- Edit tour highlight and behind-the-scenes content from ICS events and tours
- Add captions, text overlays, transitions, music, sound design, and color grading that match our brand tone
- Deliver content optimized for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook
- Maintain overlapping availability with the team from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM CDT for collaboration
- Join our weekly team check-in, Tuesdays at 2:00 PM CDT
- Suggest edits, pacing changes, and creative ideas that improve retention and engagement
- Meet turnaround timelines reliably and communicate proactively on progress

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven video editing experience — portfolio or sample work required
- Strong proficiency in professional editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve preferred)
- Experience editing short-form vertical content for social media (Reels, TikToks, Shorts)
- Strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and storytelling through editing
- Reliable internet connection and your own equipment
- Excellent communication and ability to take and apply creative direction
- A positive, collaborative attitude that fits a good-vibes team culture

HOW TO APPLY

1. Your portfolio — links to 3-6 video samples you've edited (at least three short-form vertical piece, if available) and your CV or resume.
2. Your tech stack — the editing software you use most, and your experience level with it.
3. Your availability — weekly hours you can commit, your ability to overlap 9 AM–5 PM CDT, your earliest availability to meet this week, and your rate (hourly or per video).

BONUS (OPTIONAL, BUT HIGHLY PRIORITIZED):
- Film a simple, short video (30–60 seconds) telling us (a) what you love about editing and (b) your favorite ice cream flavor — share the link with your application.

OUR HIRING PROCESS
1. Application Review — we read every application, in full
2. Short Survey — a quick video survey about you, your editing style, and your love of ice cream
3. Round 1 Interview — up to 30 minutes on Zoom (CDT scheduling)
4. Test Project — selected candidates complete a short, paid test video project
5. Offer — we assess your test project and extend an offer to join the team

As Ice Cream Sunshine grows, this role may expand to include additional responsibilities and hours.
