JOB OVERVIEW

About Us

Core Leads Marketing is a US-based marketing agency. We run Facebook ads and build content for local service businesses like roofers, HVAC companies, junk removal crews and gyms. The videos you edit will run
as paid ads and organic posts for real US businesses, and we can see exactly how they perform.

The Role

We need a video editor who does more than follow instructions. You'll edit Facebook ads and organic short-form content. We want your opinion. If a hook is weak, a script drags, or an idea won't work for a US
audience, tell us, and tell us what you'd do instead.

We are not looking for a yes-man. The best person for this job will push back, pitch ideas and help us make better ads.

What You'll Do

- Edit short-form video ads and organic content for Facebook and Instagram (Reels, Stories, Feed)
- Build motion graphics: animated text, lower thirds, callouts, simple transitions, logo animations
- Create premium, on-brand captions (animated, styled and timed to the voiceover, not default auto-captions)
- Cut raw client footage, UGC and founder videos into scroll-stopping hooks and tight edits
- Pitch creative ideas: new hooks, angles, formats and trends worth testing
- Give honest feedback on scripts, footage and concepts before we spend money on them
- Make versions of winning ads (new hooks, lengths and aspect ratios)

Must Have

- Strong in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve. No CapCut editors, please. If CapCut is your main tool, this role is not a fit.
- Motion graphics skills (After Effects or Fusion is a big plus)
- A track record of editing ads or social content for US brands or US audiences
- You understand what US viewers respond to: pacing, humor, tone, trends and what feels "salesy" vs. real
- You know direct-response ad basics: the hook in the first 3 seconds, retention, a clear CTA
- Good written and spoken English
- Reliable internet and a computer that can handle 4K footage
- You're comfortable speaking up and disagreeing respectfully

Nice to Have

- Experience editing for home service or local businesses
- You've seen your ads' results (hook rate, CTR, cost per lead) and learned from them
- Basic sound design and color grading
- You can take a rough idea and turn it into a finished concept on your own

How to Apply

Applications missing any of these will not be reviewed:

1. Start your application with the words "I'm not a yes-man" so we know you read this.
2. Send your portfolio: 3 to 5 videos you edited, ideally ads or short-form content for US brands. Tell us what you did on each one.
3. Tell us which software you use (Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve) and how many years you've used it.
4. If you know how any of your ads performed, share the results.
5. Watch a Facebook ad from any US brand, and in 3 to 5 sentences tell us one thing you would change and why.

Shortlisted applicants will get a paid test edit.
