Dear Family Films is an Australian videography service dedicated to preserving life stories on film. We sit with people and film them telling their story in their own words. The result is a beautifully edited, feature-length keepsake that families can treasure for generations.
We are looking for a reliable, skilled video editor to join us on an ongoing basis as our dedicated post-production partner.
Each project will typically include:
40–90 minutes of final edited footage
2–3 camera angles to sync and cut between
Digitised family photos to be animated and overlaid onto footage (Ken Burns-style)
A branded intro and outro
Background music mixed under dialogue
Colour grading for a warm, cinematic feel
You'll be a great fit if you:
Have experience editing long-form or documentary-style video
Are proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or any professional editing software
Understand pacing and how to hold a viewer's attention across a long film
Are comfortable working with still photos and animating them over footage
Communicate clearly, meet deadlines, and take feedback well
This is an ongoing role paid at a fixed rate per project. To apply, please share examples of long-form or documentary editing work and a brief note about your experience and availability.
