JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor & Content Producer

25–35 Hours/Week | Long-Term | Sport, Events & E-Commerce

We’re an Australian company looking for a talented Video Editor & Content Producer to become a long-term part of our creative team.

We’re looking for approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility around working hours. For the right person, there is potential for the role to grow.

This is not a role where you simply wait for someone to tell you where to make every cut.

We want someone who can take raw footage, understand what we’re trying to achieve, identify the strongest stories and hooks, and turn it into engaging content quickly.

You’ll work across two very different businesses, which means the content is varied and there is always something new to create.

WORLD OCEAN SERIES — SPORT & EVENTS

We run a growing Australian ocean sports and events series.

Our team captures a huge amount of content around our events: elite racing, athlete stories, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, B-roll, crowds, entertainment, sponsors, activations and everything happening around the event.

We want to dramatically improve the speed at which that raw footage becomes great content.

You might create:

* Fast-paced race highlights
* Athlete stories and profiles
* Behind-the-scenes content
* Reels, TikToks and Shorts
* Event hype videos
* Sponsor content and activations
* Event recaps and highlight packages
* Longer-form storytelling
* Content promoting the entire event experience — live sport, music, food, entertainment and atmosphere
* Multiple versions of content for different audiences and platforms

You don’t need to already understand ocean sports.

But you do need to understand sport, competition and storytelling — and be a quick learner.

Over time, we want you to know our athletes, events and storylines well enough that you can look through footage and identify what matters without us having to explain everything.

You’ll also work directly with the people shooting our content.

We want you to be able to say:

“We need more of this.”

“Next event, let’s capture this angle.”

“There’s a story here.”

“Give me more athlete reactions and less generic B-roll.”

You won’t just sit at the end of the production process. You’ll help us make the whole process better.

E-COMMERCE & AD CREATIVE

We also operate a fast-growing e-commerce business.

Here, the objective is different.

We need a constant pipeline of fresh, engaging advertising creative.

You’ll work with product footage, UGC, photography, existing ads and new content to create and test different ideas.

This could include:

* New hooks and opening sequences
* Multiple variations of successful ads
* UGC edits
* Product-focused ads
* Graphic overlays
* Motion graphics and simple animation
* Different music, pacing and messaging
* Fresh angles using existing footage
* Testing different lengths and formats
* Rapidly iterating on creative that is performing well

You should understand that an ad isn’t just a nice-looking video. It has a job to do.

Sometimes that’s stopping the scroll.

Sometimes it’s generating a click.

Sometimes it’s explaining a product.

Sometimes it’s creating desire.

Sometimes it’s taking something that’s already working and producing five intelligent variations to see if we can make it work even better.

We want someone interested in understanding why content performs, not just whether it looks good.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Technical editing ability matters, but we’re looking for more than someone who knows editing software.

We want someone who:

* Has excellent instincts for short-form content
* Understands hooks, pacing, retention and storytelling
* Understands sport and competition
* Can identify interesting moments in raw footage
* Can work without needing every edit mapped out
* Can create multiple variations quickly
* Understands the difference between organic content and performance advertising
* Can use graphics, text, overlays and animation where they improve the content
* Is comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
* Can learn our brands, athletes and audiences
* Is organised with large volumes of footage
* Can work directly with the people filming our content
* Is interested in improving the entire production workflow, not just editing individual videos
* Is curious about what performs and why

We care about speed AND quality.

We don’t want someone spending an entire day perfecting a 20-second Reel that could have been excellent in two hours.

We also don’t want someone pumping out mediocre content just to hit a volume target.

Our goal is to build a production system where great footage becomes great content fast.

HOURS & WORKING WITH US

This is an ongoing, long-term role averaging approximately 25–35 hours per week.

There is flexibility around your working hours.

We’re much more interested in finding an excellent person than forcing a traditional 40-hour work week.

However, we’re not looking for someone who occasionally picks up editing jobs when they have spare time.

We want someone who can become a consistent part of our team, learn our businesses deeply and take increasing ownership of our content production.

If the relationship works well, there is plenty of opportunity for the role to grow.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Initially, we’ll provide more direction while you learn our businesses.

But over time, we want to be able to send you a folder containing footage from an event and have you start saying:

“This is a story.”

“This could make a great Reel.”

“There are three different pieces of content in this footage.”

“We should create several versions of this.”

“Next time, the camera team should capture this angle.”

Likewise, with our e-commerce creative, we want you looking at what’s performing and thinking:

“Why is this working?”

“What happens if we change the first three seconds?”

“Can we create five new versions without needing another shoot?”

That’s the level we’re trying to build toward.

HOW TO APPLY

Please do not send us a generic application.

Start your application with the words:

OCEAN EDITOR

Then send us:

1. A short introduction about yourself.
2. Your portfolio or showreel.
3. Your three best examples of short-form content you personally edited.
4. One example of content you edited specifically to sell a product, service or event, if you have one.
5. Tell us which editing software you use.
6. Tell us about any experience you have editing sport, events, e-commerce, UGC or performance advertising.
7. Tell us how many hours per week you’re currently available.
8. Tell us your expected monthly salary in PHP based on approximately 30 hours per week.

Finally, answer this:

THE QUESTION WE CARE ABOUT MOST

You receive 90 minutes of raw footage from a major sporting event. There are races, athletes warming up, interviews, crowds, sponsors, music, food and behind-the-scenes footage. Nobody gives you an edit list.

What would you do first, and how would you d ---------- what content to create from it?

We’re much more interested in your answer to that question and the quality of your previous work than a long résumé.
