JOB OVERVIEW

The Role
You'll turn our clients' raw workflow recordings and interviews into clean, clear SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) videos, quickly and accurately, so their teams can train, transition, and document with confidence and so a key step in our client delivery serves as a competitive advantage and client experience enhancement, not a bottleneck.

Why This Matters
These videos are one part of a larger SOP package we deliver to clients. The editing isn't about flashy effects nor is it something that a typical AI workflow software solves. It's about human judgment and clear thinking: watching the content, understanding it, and shaping it so it's concise, complete, and easy to learn from.
This also makes communication and responsiveness as important as the editing itself. We're looking for someone who seeks to understand the material, asks good questions, gives and takes feedback, and stays in close contact with the team as work moves.
When we do this well, our clients get "the wonderful SOPs you built," creating opportunities for them to hire and scale, and our internal process runs better and adds marketability to our firm. You'll be a real contributor to that result.

What You'll Do
• Edit raw SOP, screen-recording and interview-style videos. Remove gaps and dead time, tighten for conciseness without losing meaning, and clean up loading delays or "spinning wheel" moments.
• Find the natural breakpoints. Listen to the content and cut it into coherent, standalone segments that make sense for training and consumption, almost like course modules.
• Protect confidentiality. Watch for sensitive or client information in the background and handle it according to our standards.
• Keep files and workflow organized to company conventions, so what we need is easy to find and hand off.
• Deliver a rough cut before final clips. One continuous file, dead time and filler out, layout set, breakpoints thoughtfully marked. We confirm or adjust, then you cut to that.
• Stay responsive and communicate as work moves. Post updates, questions, and decisions in provided tools, and flag delays or difficulties early so nothing stalls silently.
• Join a short weekly check-in and contribute to planning and team discussions. Raise concerns about timing or quality and suggest improvements both upstream (e.g. how we create better raw video) and downstream (e.g. ensuring the usefulness and coherence of all SOP deliverables).
• Over time, and depending on fit and capacity, help with first-pass SOP drafts from transcripts using AI tools, and occasionally other short-form or long-form content.

Who We're Looking For
• A strong communicator who understands the material and the requirements, asks questions rather than guessing, and gives and receives feedback well.
• A team participant who stays responsive, keeps the team updated, and works as part of the process rather than going quiet and delivering in isolation.
• Solid technical video editing skill, with a portfolio you can share.
• The judgment to edit for meaning: finding breakpoints and shaping content for comprehension, not only trimming clips.
• Strong written and spoken English, and the confidence to work through technical material from different sources and different communication styles.
• Integrity and care with sensitive or confidential information.
• Organized and reliable with files, workflow, and turnaround.
• A collaborator who improves a process from within and cares about the end result for the client.

Nice To Have
• Experience with training, course, or SOP-style content.
• Comfort using AI and transcript tools in a content workflow.
• Short-form or long-form video editing.
• Familiarity with US business context, or the appetite to learn it.

Logistics
• Remote and mostly async. The only fixed overlap is one weekly team meeting in the morning, US Central Time. You manage your own schedule around reliable, predictable turnaround and staying reachable during the work week.
• Capacity & Structure: Retainer, not project-by-project. Guaranteed minimum units per month, overflow rate above that. One unit is up to 60 minutes of source footage, in 60-minute increments. Measured on the raw file we send, confirmed at handoff, never at invoice.
• Volume: Roughly 10-12 units per month, plus a standing backlog. There's always work available.
• Delivery & Turnaround. Rough cut within 48 hours (2 business days) of the cut sheet and raw file. One continuous file, dead time and filler out, layout set, breakpoints marked. We confirm or adjust, then you cut to that. Final clips within 48 hours (2 business days) of our feedback. Both clocks start when we hand off, so our delays are never on you.
• Confidentiality. Live client business data. NDA before any footage moves. Work stays in the accounts we provide, nothing on personal drives.
• Dedicated setup required: your own computer and stable internet plus the ability to keep our clients' confidential material protected.
• Start date: aiming for on or before August 31, ready to edit from day one.
• Compensation. $500-$1,000 monthly retainer for 12 guaranteed units, plus overflow. Include your rate or a rate range in your application.

Where This Can Lead
This seat sits within our client fulfillment process. The right person grows from part-time to full-time video editor and ultimately into a process contributor, shaping how we build SOPs and, over time, helping us do more content and AV work related to our own processes and thought leadership.

How To Apply
Send a short note (not a template) and tell me why this role interests you. Also include a link to your portfolio. So I know you read this, start your message with the word "SOP." Strong candidates will be asked to complete a short, paid editing test before any hire.
