JOB OVERVIEW

What we do.

We're a DTC supplement brand spending six figures a month on Meta acquiring customers. Every dollar of that spend runs through video ads. The person editing those ads determines whether we scale or stall.

That's you.

What the job actually is.

You take scripts and turn them into ads that hold attention and drive purchases. That is the job. Not brand films. Not YouTube vlogs. Not social content. You edit direct-response video ads — AI creatives and VSLs — that run against cold traffic on Meta, and you do it at volume.

We don't shoot with UGC creators. We don't run live productions. Our entire creative pipeline is AI-built. AI-generated video, AI imagery, AI voiceover, motion graphics, screen recordings, stock footage — assembled into ads that sell. If you're still editing the traditional way and treating AI tools as a novelty, this isn't the right fit. AI is not a nice-to-have here. It is the production method. You need to be the person who already knows what Runway, Kling, Minimax, Pika, Hailuo, ElevenLabs, Midjourney, Flux, and similar tools can and can't do — and you're actively keeping up as the capabilities change every few weeks.

The editor who thrives here is the one who sees a script, immediately knows which AI tools produce the best output for each section, generates the raw materials fast, and assembles them into something that doesn't look like an AI demo reel — it looks like an ad that makes someone stop scrolling and buy.

On a given week you will cut 5–15 ad variations. Some are short-form hooks under 30 seconds. Some are full VSLs running 3–10 minutes. You'll work directly with the creative strategist who writes the scripts. Their words are the blueprint. Your edit is the execution — pacing, visual rhythm, text overlays, transitions, the moment-to-moment decisions that keep someone watching or let them leave.

Day to day:

Generate AI visuals and footage from scripts. Edit ads. Build hook variations — same script, different visual openings, different pacing, different first three seconds. Review performance data with the creative strategist to understand what's working and why. Re-cut winners into new variations to extend their life. Test different visual treatments on the same angle. Stay current on new AI tools and capabilities — what launched last week might change how we produce next week's ads. Repeat.

What you need to be good at:

AI-native production. You don't just know how to prompt an image generator — you know how to prompt it for the specific visual style that performs in direct-response ads. You can generate consistent characters across scenes. You can produce AI video that holds up at full resolution on a phone screen without the uncanny-valley artifacts that kill credibility. You understand the current limitations of each tool and you work around them instead of fighting them.

Pacing. You understand that a direct-response ad has a rhythm — it earns attention in the first second, holds it through the mechanism, and drives action at the close. You can feel when an edit drags, when a transition is a millisecond too slow, when a text overlay stays on screen long enough to read but not long enough to bore.

You're fluent in at least one professional editing tool — Premiere, After Effects, DaVinci, CapCut Pro, or equivalent. You know how to composite AI-generated assets cleanly, color grade for consistency across mixed sources, add motion graphics, and handle text animation. You're fast.

Experience with supplement, health, or DTC ad editing is a strong plus. If you've cut VSLs before, even better — you understand the specific rhythm of a long-form sales video where every visual beat serves a persuasion purpose, not an entertainment one.

Who this is for.

You live in AI tools. Not dabble — live. You've already produced real video content using AI generation and you're not waiting for someone to teach you the workflow. You follow the space closely enough that when a new model drops, you're testing it within days to see if it's better than what you're currently using.

You've edited video ads before — ideally for a brand spending real money on paid social. You understand that the first three seconds are life or death.

You're fast and you don't need hand-holding. When a script lands in your inbox, you can generate the assets and turn around a first cut the same day.

You're hungry. You want to get better at this specific craft — cutting AI-produced ads that make money — and you want the reps to prove it.

Who this is not for.

If you think AI creative is a gimmick or a shortcut for people who can't shoot real video, this isn't the role. This is our production method and we take it seriously.

If your portfolio is wedding videos and short films, this isn't the role. If your instinct is to make things cinematic rather than converting, this isn't the role. Beautiful editing that doesn't hold a cold audience past three seconds is beautiful editing that loses money.

If you need detailed shot-by-shot storyboards for every ad before you start cutting, you'll be too slow here. You'll get scripts with clear direction, but you're expected to make visual and generative decisions on your own and move fast.

If you want a 9-to-5 with clearly defined boundaries, we respect that — but this isn't the gig.

What you get.

$1,500/month base. Performance bonus when ads you edit become winners — the better they perform, the more you make. The base is the floor, not the ceiling. Editors who cut winning ads earn significantly more through performance bonuses, and there is no cap.

Direct access to the founder. No account managers relaying notes through a chain. You'll work alongside the person who built the brand and makes the scaling decisions. When an ad you cut starts spending $1,000/day, the founder knows exactly who edited it.

You also get volume. We're spending $100K+/month on Meta, which means your edits go live fast and you get performance data back fast. You'll learn more about what actually works in paid AI-produced advertising in three months here than in a year anywhere else — because every edit you make gets tested against real buyers with real money.
