JOB OVERVIEW

Part-Time | Remote | £4 per hour

About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing UK-based marketing business seeking an experienced and creative Video Editor to produce engaging short-form content for a range of service-based businesses.
This role is primarily focused on creating high-quality videos for platforms including Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. You'll work from clear briefs and reference examples to produce content that captures attention, retains viewers, and delivers a professional finish.

You'll be provided with detailed project briefs, examples of the desired editing style, and all the assets needed to complete each project. We're looking for someone who can take ownership of the editing process and consistently deliver content with minimal supervision.

Note: This is not an entry-level editing role. We are looking for an experienced editor who understands social media, storytelling, and audience retention.

Working Hours
Part-Time | Flexible Working Hours
10 hours per week. Work can be completed around agreed deadlines, with flexibility to suit both parties.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing
Edit engaging short-form videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
Produce high-quality edits typically between 30–90 seconds
Follow detailed creative briefs and reference examples
Deliver polished videos ready for publishing
Ensure all edits align with brand guidelines and project objectives

Motion Graphics & Visual Effects
Create animated captions and subtitles
Add motion graphics and visual effects
Incorporate smooth transitions, zooms, and camera movements
Integrate music and sound effects to enhance engagement
Apply creative editing techniques that maximise audience retention

Project Management
Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously
Deliver projects within agreed deadlines
Implement revisions where required
Maintain organised project files and workflows
Communicate progress and timelines effectively

Content Optimisation
Create edits designed specifically for social media performance
Apply best practices for viewer engagement and retention
Stay up to date with current editing styles and social media trends
Continuously look for ways to improve content quality and performance

Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience editing short-form social media content
Strong proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience using Adobe After Effects
Excellent understanding of pacing, storytelling, and audience retention
Experience creating animated captions, motion graphics, and engaging visual effects
Strong understanding of social media content trends and platform-specific editing styles
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable Skills
Experience using Adobe Photoshop
Experience editing content for marketing agencies or service-based businesses
Familiarity with multiple social media platforms and content strategies
Basic graphic design experience
Experience creating reusable editing templates and workflows

Not creating long-form YouTube content
