JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor for Tech Tutorial / Educational YouTube Channel (Long Term, Weekly Pay)

Rate: $100 USD per week, flat. Paid every week AFTER the week's delivery passes my quality checklist. First week is a paid trial.

Workload: this is a full time editor role. The starting point is 1 tutorial video per week (roughly 15 to 35 minutes of finished video from 1 to 2 hours of raw footage) plus short clips, and it grows from there as my content grows.

ABOUT THE WORK

You will be my full time editor across everything I produce. The main project right now is my cloud engineering tutorial series (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IT infrastructure): screen recordings of me building real projects while I narrate, with a facecam picture-in-picture (PiP) over the screen capture, edited calm, clean, and professional. For every tutorial you get the raw recording, my full script, and a written edit guide, and I call out my takes with signal words so you always know which take to keep. Tutorials are the anchor, not the ceiling: as the channel grows you will also cut shorts, social clips, and other video content I create.

WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERY WEEK

- Cut the raw recording down using my script and take markers (the last full take of each step wins unless I say otherwise)
- Sync and position the facecam PiP over the screen recording, keeping it clean and consistent
- Remove long pauses, filler words, and bad takes so each step flows into the next
- Blur or cut every password, email address, and account ID that appears on screen. This is a hard requirement. It is a security rule, not a style choice, and it is on the checklist every single week
- Add simple zooms, callouts, or overlay graphics where the guide asks for them
- Export one main video (YouTube and LinkedIn use the same export) and, when asked, short standalone clips
- Deliver on the agreed day each week and run my QC checklist on your own work before sending

WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR

- Proven experience editing tutorial, educational, or informational videos (screen capture with talking head PiP)
- Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut (your choice, I care about the output)
- Detail oriented: you actually read guides and follow checklists
- Reliable weekly turnaround and honest communication. If you are stuck or something is unclear, you ask early instead of guessing
- English good enough to follow a written script and edit guide
