JOB OVERVIEW

Schedule: 10-15 hours per week
Working Hours: Flexible

Summary – We are looking for a Video Editor to support long-form and short-form content creation for YouTube and social media. This role will help edit videos, create short-form clips, organize files, and assist with posting or scheduling content across social media platforms.

The ideal candidate has experience editing both long-form YouTube videos and short-form social media content. They should be comfortable using tools such as Opus, YouTube, Dropbox, and ---------- and be able to work independently while following brand guidelines, content instructions, and deadlines.

The client appreciates polished, confident, and visually engaging content, with occasional inspiration drawn from high-quality music and entertainment visuals.

REQUIRED: Experience editing long-form YouTube videos.
REQUIRED: Experience creating short-form content for platforms such as YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, or LinkedIn.
REQUIRED: Familiarity with Opus or similar tools for creating short-form clips from long-form videos.
REQUIRED: Comfortable using YouTube for uploading, formatting, thumbnails, descriptions, or basic channel support.
REQUIRED: Familiarity with Dropbox or similar file-sharing tools for organizing and managing video files.
REQUIRED: Familiarity with ---------- or similar project management tools.
REQUIRED: Ability to follow editing instructions, brand guidelines, and content direction.
REQUIRED: Strong attention to detail in video cuts, captions, formatting, audio, and final exports.
REQUIRED: Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate progress clearly.
REQUIRED: Excellent internet connection and willingness to use time-tracking software provided by the company.

Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form video content for YouTube.
- Create short-form clips from long-form videos using Opus or similar tools.
- Edit content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.
- Organize raw footage, edited files, and final exports using Dropbox or similar file-sharing platforms.
- Assist with uploading, formatting, and organizing video content on YouTube when needed.
- Create or prepare social media content for scheduling and publishing.
- Schedule content across social media platforms when needed.
- Follow editing instructions, brand guidelines, content calendars, and project deadlines.
- Collaborate with the team through ---------- or similar project management tools.
- Communicate progress, questions, and completed tasks clearly and consistently.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

- Experience editing YouTube videos, podcasts, interviews, educational content, lifestyle content, or marketing videos.
- Experience creating short-form content from long-form videos.
- Familiarity with Opus, YouTube Studio, Dropbox, and ---------- .
- Experience with social media content creation and scheduling.
- Ability to add captions, simple graphics, transitions, music, and basic audio cleanup.
- Strong understanding of pacing, hooks, retention, and short-form content formatting.
- Comfortable resizing and formatting videos for different social media platforms.
- Strong organization and file-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple editing tasks in a remote environment.
- Good written communication skills for updates, questions, and task coordination.

Stretch Goals / Responsibilities

Help improve video content quality, identify strong short-form clip opportunities, suggest better hooks or edits, assist with YouTube optimization, support social media scheduling, create simple thumbnails or graphics when needed, and help organize a repeatable video-editing workflow.
