JOB OVERVIEW

About the role

We’re looking for a detail-obsessed Junior Video Editor to help us turn raw footage, images, and transcripts into scroll-stopping content. You’ll cut videos, create Reels/Shorts/TikToks, optimise transcripts/captions, and build simple social videos from images and B-roll. Expect fast feedback loops, tight deadlines, and lots of variety across platforms.

MUST HAVE - Licensed Video Editing Software, ability to work with BRAW files, Fast Internet Access, Da Vinci Resolve Experience

What you’ll do (day-to-day)

Edit video: Assemble rough cuts, polish fine cuts, add lower thirds, end cards, music, and basic sound design.

Short-form social: Create platform-native clips (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn) with strong hooks, on-screen captions, and brand styling.

Captioning & transcripts: Generate and tidy transcripts (e.g., Descript/Whisper), produce SRT/VTT, burn-in captions when needed, and repurpose transcripts into descriptions, chapter markers, and timestamps.

Image-to-video: Build motion slideshows from images and graphics; add zooms, pans, light motion graphics, and transitions.

Versioning & formats: Deliver 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, and 16:9 variants; export optimised files per platform specs.

Quality control: Colour balance, audio levelling, noise reduction, consistency with brand guidelines, and final checks before publishing.

Asset management: Keep projects tidy (naming conventions, proxy workflows), maintain libraries of music, SFX, LUTs, and templates.

Publishing support: Prepare thumbnails, titles, tags, and metadata; collaborate on upload schedules and content calendars.

Stock & B-roll: Source rights-cleared footage, images, and music; track licences.

Performance awareness: Review retention graphs/analytics with the team; iterate cuts to improve watch time and engagement.

Nice to have

Basic motion graphics (simple keyframing, mask reveals, animated stickers).

YouTube workflow experience (chapters, end screens, cards, descriptions).
