VIDEO EDITOR (VIRTUAL ASSISTANT)

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are a fast-growing digital marketing agency seeking a highly skilled Video Editor (Virtual Assistant) to support our creative team. You will transform raw footage into polished, engaging videos for social media, websites, ads, and long-form content. This role directly supports our Creative Director and significantly increases our production capacity.
This is a full-time remote position requiring excellent communication, fast turnaround times, and strong creative instincts.
COMPENSATION
$1,200 – $2,000 USD per month
(Depending on experience, portfolio, and editing speed)
REPORTS TO
Creative Director
Collaborates with:
– Founder / Strategy Lead
– Graphic Designer
– Social Media Team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Video Editing & Production
Edit short-form vertical videos (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
Edit long-form content (YouTube videos, interviews, tutorials, podcasts)
Add captions, subtitles, animated text, transitions, and graphics
Perform color correction and audio cleanup
Repurpose footage for different formats and platforms
Select sound effects and background music
Maintain consistent brand quality across all edits
Creative Execution
Follow creative briefs and brand guidelines
Apply strong storytelling, pacing, and hook strategy
Suggest improvements to enhance overall video quality
Blend creativity with performance-driven editing
File & Asset Management
Organize footage, export files, and project folders
Maintain structured file management in Google Drive
Manage revisions, versions, and naming conventions
Ensure all project assets are accessible to the team
Collaboration & Communication
Communicate clearly with the Creative Director
Manage feedback and revisions with speed and accuracy
Flag missing assets or project blockers
Meet deadlines consistently
Attend short weekly team stand-up calls (when required)
REQUIRED SKILLS
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience using After Effects, CapCut Desktop, or DaVinci Resolve (preferred)
Strong understanding of social-first video trends
Skilled in captions, dynamic text, motion graphics, and transitions
Excellent storytelling and pacing instincts
Strong color correction and audio editing fundamentals
Ability to follow branded templates and creative systems
Reliable internet for transferring large files
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Edited content for marketing agencies, creators, or brands
Experience with short-form content repurposing
Understanding of retention curves and social algorithms
Familiarity with YouTube editing best practices
Able to produce light motion graphics or animated elements
