Video Colorist needed for a color correction project on professionally shot fitness class footage.
The footage was well shot but the videographer applied a color grade I did not request, and the result leaves the entire image looking washed out, flat, and unnatural. I am now looking for someone to correct it.
This is NOT a general video editing role. No cuts, transitions, text overlays, or reels needed. Pure color correction only.
To start, I will provide one short clip as a paid test. If the results are strong we will move forward with the full project of approximately 23 clips, the longest being around 19 minutes. The test clip will be paid. I value your time and want to make sure we are a good fit before diving in.
There is also possibility for additional work in the future for the right person. We may be looking to add a dedicated video editor to our team down the road so this is a great way for us to get to know each other!
What you will be doing:
- Neutralize and correct a bad existing color grade on final exported footage
- Restore natural, accurate color throughout the entire clip including skin tones, environment, and overall warmth
- Match color consistency across multiple clips from the same shoot
- Deliver clean results without introducing banding, noise, or artifacts
Requirements:
- Experience with color correction work on final exported files, not RAW footage
- You may use whatever software or tools you prefer as long as the final deliverable is high quality and color accurate
- Detail oriented with consistent results across multiple clips
This is NOT a fit if:
- You are a general social media video editor with no dedicated color work experience
- You have not done color correction or footage rescue before
To apply, put the word COLOR in your subject line and include:
A 2-3 minute Loom video introducing yourself. Tell me something about you — a personal hobby, interest, or fun fact about you (I'd like to get to know you as a person too! ?? ) What drew you to color work, and what limitations if any exist when working with final exported files and how do you work within them?
2-3 before/after examples of color correction work
