Virtual Assistant – Verification of Benefits (Healthcare)
We are hiring a Virtual Assistant with experience in U.S. healthcare insurance verification.
This position will verify patient insurance benefits and enter accurate information into our systems.
Responsibilities
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
Call insurance companies when needed
Use insurance payer websites and portals
Confirm:
Deductible
Copay
Coinsurance
Out-of-pocket maximum
Active coverage
In-network/out-of-network benefits
Check if prior authorization is required
Document all benefit information accurately
Record call reference numbers and representative names
Communicate problems or missing information to the team
Protect patient information and follow HIPAA requirements
Requirements
Previous U.S. healthcare Verification of Benefits (VOB) experience required
Experience working with U.S. insurance companies
Behavioral health or substance use treatment experience is preferred
Good spoken and written English
Strong attention to detail
Comfortable making phone calls to insurance companies
Reliable computer and internet connection
Able to work during U.S. business hours
Able to work independently and meet daily expectations

Medicaid and commercial insurance
Prior Authorization
Healthcare billing or revenue cycle
