We're a US travel tech company (business-class flight deal alerts). We're looking for an experienced long-form editor to cut our main Video Sales Letter: a 12-15 minute talking-head video with a professional presenter in a clean, warm studio setup, similar in feel to high-end business/finance YouTube channels.
This is not a fast-cut, flashy, TikTok-style edit. We want premium, calm, credible. Think Hormozi / Ali Abdaal-level polish: clean typography, smooth motion graphics, relevant B-roll, nothing that cheapens the presenter.
Two deliverables: horizontal + vertical
Every VSL must be delivered in two formats:
-16:9 horizontal for desktop
-9:16 vertical for mobile, properly re-framed: presenter recropped, all graphics, maps, text and screen recordings re-laid out for the vertical frame. Not a lazy crop with black bars or cut-off text.
You should plan your compositions for both formats from the start so the vertical version isn't a painful afterthought.
What the edit involves
About 60-70% of this job is light motion design, not just cutting:
-Animated maps (e.g. a US map with a route line, a price appearing, crossed out in red, replaced by a new one)
-Price animations: numbers changing, falling, comparisons — clean and readable
-Screen recording choreography: dashboards,
-On-screen typography: big centered statements, FAQ questions,
-Simple illustrations: cabin seat maps, a globe with flight paths, a chart dropping
-Animated arrows pointing to the CTA button below the video, guarantee badges, logo reveals
-Premium stock B-roll: first-class cabins, airline logos, recognizable destinations
-Large, clean bottom captions matching our existing style
We provide the presenter footage, a fully commented script (editing notes on every section), screen recordings, logo, brand colors and reference assets. You bring the craft and the taste.
Requirements
-Strong After Effects skills (mandatory) plus Premiere or DaVinci
-Proven long-form editing experience (VSLs, YouTube business/finance/education, documentaries)
-Experience delivering the same video in horizontal and vertical formats
-A portfolio that shows clean motion graphics and on-screen data — not just cuts
-Good sense of pacing for long videos: holding attention for 12+ minutes without nervous editing
-Reliable, clear written English, respects deadlines
-Able to build reusable After Effects templates (in both formats) so future videos go faster
Scope & pay
First project: one 12-15 min VSL in both formats, expected turnaround 7-10 days after receiving assets. Paid per project: $500. If the first one goes well, this can become a long-term role (part-time or full-time monthly salary) producing all our VSLs, new versions, shorter cutdowns and similar videos every month.
How to apply — read carefully
Include these 3 things. Applications missing any of them will be ignored.
- One link to the VSL (or long-form video) you've edited that's closest to what's described above. Tell us exactly what you did on it (editing, motion graphics, captions, vertical version...) and why you think it matches this brief.
- One more link showing your motion graphics work: animated numbers, maps, screen recordings, on-screen data.
- Your realistic turnaround for a 12-minute VSL with this level of motion graphics, in both formats.
Start your application with the word "PREMIUM" so we know you read this.
We'll shortlist based on these examples only, then have a quick chat with the top 2-3 before choosing.
