URGENT HIRING – ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Project-Based | Remote | U.S. Commercial/Industrial Project
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer who can start immediately to assist with an active warehouse project in New Hampshire, USA.
This is initially a short-term, project-based position with the potential for additional projects and ongoing work based on performance.
IMMEDIATE PROJECT
We need an Electrical Design Engineer to assist with the design of a new electrical service for an existing warehouse/industrial facility.
The project includes a fire pump system that will need to be incorporated into the electrical service design.
Our team currently has:
Preliminary electrical load calculations that need to be reviewed and verified
Existing warehouse/project drawings
Fire protection drawings showing the proposed system
Preliminary fire pump information
Additional fire pump specifications to follow
We need someone capable of reviewing this information, identifying any additional information required, performing the necessary electrical calculations, and developing the electrical design in accordance with applicable U.S. codes and standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and verify preliminary electrical load calculations
Design the proposed new electrical service
Determine appropriate electrical service capacity
Incorporate the fire pump electrical load and power requirements into the design
Perform service, feeder, transformer, and equipment sizing calculations as applicable
Review fire pump specifications and coordinate electrical requirements
Prepare electrical plans and single-line/one-line diagrams
Develop and revise drawings using AutoCAD
Identify required service equipment, switchgear/panelboards, transformers, feeders, disconnects, and related components
Review existing project drawings and identify missing information or conflicts
Coordinate directly with our U.S. electrical contracting team for questions and revisions
Assist with material takeoffs and estimating after the design is established
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of electrical engineering/design experience
Strong commercial and/or industrial electrical design experience
Strong AutoCAD proficiency
Experience designing or upgrading electrical services
Experience performing electrical load calculations
Strong working knowledge of the U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to size electrical services, feeders, transformers, and related distribution equipment
Ability to prepare professional electrical one-line diagrams
Ability to independently review calculations and identify design issues
Good written and spoken English
Able to work quickly and communicate with a U.S.-based team
HIGHLY PREFERRED
Electrical Engineering degree
Professional Engineer (PE) experience or experience working under U.S. PE requirements
Previous U.S. commercial/industrial electrical design experience
Experience with fire pump electrical systems and NEC Article 695
Experience coordinating electrical requirements from fire protection drawings and fire pump specifications
Experience with 3-phase electrical distribution systems
Experience with service upgrades, transformers, switchgear, and panelboards
Electrical estimating/takeoff experience
