ABOUT A BIT OF ART
A Bit of Art is a design-led wholesale brand developed by ARTiSTORY. We transform art, museum collections, literature, and living cultural heritage into distinctive products for retailers and cultural institutions.
Our B2B Shopify store is ready, and we are now building our wholesale presence in the United States. We are looking for an experienced US Wholesale Business Development Manager who understands the American retail market and can help us develop long-term relationships with qualified buyers.

THIS IS NOT A GENERAL VA OR BASIC LEAD-GENERATION ROLE
We are specifically looking for someone with proven experience selling physical consumer products through US wholesale channels.
You should understand how independent retailers and institutional buyers evaluate new products, place opening orders, request samples, negotiate terms, and make reorders.
Existing professional relationships with US retailers, buyers, distributors, corporate gift companies, or museum stores are strongly preferred. All relationships must be used professionally and legally. We do not ask candidates to share confidential customer lists or proprietary information belonging to former employers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Wholesale Business Development
- Introduce A Bit of Art to qualified US retailers and institutional buyers.
- Reconnect with relevant professional contacts where appropriate.
- Identify and approach new wholesale prospects through
- Develop warm, personalized outreach rather than generic mass
- Understand each retailer's customers and recommend a relevant curated product assortment.
- Secure buyer conversations, sample requests, wholesale account applications, opening orders, and reorders.
- Conduct buyer calls independently or arrange qualified meetings with the founder.
Account and Pipeline Management
- Maintain an accurate wholesale pipeline in HubSpot or another CRM.
- Record communications, buyer interests, follow-up dates, samples, quotations, orders, and next actions.
- Follow up consistently without damaging the brand relationship.
- Support buyers through product selection, pricing, MOQ, lead-time, and ordering questions.
- Coordinate samples and follow up after delivery.
- Help existing wholesale accounts place reorders and discover additional products.
- Escalate major negotiations and strategic opportunities to the founder.
Market Development
- Provide practical feedback on which products, price points, stories, and assortments are most relevant to US retailers.
- Identify promising customer segments, regional opportunities, trade associations, and events.
- Help refine wholesale sales materials, line sheets, outreach messages, and buyer presentations.
- Share competitor and market insights based on actual buyer conversations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- At least three years of relevant experience in US wholesale sales, business development, key account management, or retail account development.
- Proven experience selling physical consumer products—not only software, real estate, or appointment-setting services.
- Experience with gifts, stationery, home decor, lifestyle products, museum products, books, art products, beauty, fashion accessories, corporate gifts, or other design-led consumer goods.
- A track record of developing relationships with US retailers or institutional buyers.
- Ability to explain measurable past results, such as accounts opened, sales generated, reorders secured, or retailer relationships managed.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Confidence communicating with American buyers by
- Strong commercial judgment, organization, and follow-through.
- Availability for agreed overlap with US Eastern business hours.
STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Existing professional relationships that can legally and appropriately be re-engaged.
- Experience with independent retailers, museum stores, gift stores, bookstores, corporate gifting, or visitor attractions.
- Experience using Shopify, Faire, HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator,
- Experience working with an emerging consumer brand.
- An appreciation for art, cultural heritage, museums, literature, and design-led products.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Performance will be measured by meaningful commercial outcomes:
- Qualified buyer conversations
- Sample and quotation requests
- New wholesale account applications
- Opening orders and reorders
- Quality and accuracy of the sales pipeline
- Consistent and professional follow-up
- Useful feedback from buyers and the market
We are not primarily measuring success by the number of
SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION
- Part-time: approximately 20 hours per week
- Long-term opportunity with potential for increased responsibility
- Base compensation: US$800–1,200 per month, depending on relevant experience and proven channel relationships
- Additional performance-based commission or bonuses for qualified new accounts, collected opening orders, and successful reorders
- At least two to three hours of overlap with US Eastern business hours on agreed working days
