About TruthScan
TruthScan helps organizations combat fraud by identifying AI-generated and digitally edited content. Our core products detect manipulated and synthetic images and PDF documentation.
We work across a variety of industry verticals that deal with high volumes of user-submitted images, where AI generation or digital editing is a direct fraud signal, as well as KYC, insurance, and other documentation-heavy businesses, where we serve as a first layer of fraud prevention.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Senior Accountant with 2+ years of US GAAP experience who is ready to step up and grow. In this role, you will initially assist with end-to-end accounting processes while learning our business operations inside and out. This role offers a flexible work schedule, though you must be available during US business hours to attend key meetings, sync with the leadership team, and deliver critical reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Initial Phase (Support & Shadow): Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and daily AR/AP operational oversight under US GAAP.
- Transition Phase (Ownership): Gradually take complete ownership of full-cycle monthly financial statement preparation, variance analysis, and internal reporting.
- Compliance & Audit: Prepare supporting schedules for US federal/state tax compliance, sales tax, and external audit requests.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in current financial workflows and recommend automated solutions.
- Cross-Timezone Syncs: Participate in live meetings, finance reviews, and reporting syncs scheduled during US business hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of general accounting experience working with US-based companies or US accounting standards.
- US tax experience - preparations and support
- Growth Mindset: High ambition and eagerness to rapidly step into a full Senior Accountant capacity.
- Schedule Flexibility: Adaptable working hours with required availability during US business hours (EST/PST) for meetings, deadlines, and reports.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA track/eligible is a major plus).
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex functions) and familiarity with accounting platforms like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero.
Communication: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills to articulate financial results to US stakeholders.
What We Offer
- Weekly Pay: Reliable, weekly payroll schedule.
- Time Off: 10 Paid Time Off (PTO) days per year.
- Flexibility: Flexible work-life setup paired with clear remote expectations
- Team & Culture: A vibrant, diverse culture where every background is celebrated.
