US Supplemental Health Insurance Operations Specialist | Agent Licensing, NSF and Policyholder Service
Shore Legacy Insurance is a growing Florida based insurance agency selling supplemental health insurance in 26 states.
We are looking for an experienced insurance operations professional in the Philippines who already understands US insurance.
This is NOT an entry level VA position. This is NOT a sales or appointment setting position.
Please apply only if you have real experience working in US insurance operations and have handled agent licensing, NSF or returned premium issues, and customer or policyholder service.
ABOUT OUR BUSINESS
We currently focus primarily on supplemental health insurance.
We work with carriers including:
ManhattanLife
American Home Life, AHL
United National Life, UNL
Guarantee Trust Life, GTL
Our products include hospital indemnity, home health care insurance, and other supplemental health products.
We are also looking at expanding into Medicare and possibly ACA. Experience in those areas is a plus, but it is not required.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HANDLE
Agent Licensing
Help our insurance agents obtain licenses in multiple US states.
Track applications, renewals, outstanding requirements, and licensing problems.
Work with NIPR, Sircon, state insurance departments, and other licensing systems when applicable.
Follow up until licensing issues are actually resolved.
Assist with carrier contracting and appointments when needed.
NSF AND RETURNED PREMIUM FOLLOW UP
This is an important part of the position.
You will help us manage customers whose insurance premium payments do not go through.
This can include NSF payments, returned ACH payments, failed bank drafts, and other unsuccessful premium payments.
You will contact customers when appropriate, work with insurance carriers, determine what needs to be corrected, and follow the issue until it is resolved.
You may also help with policy reinstatements or other problems caused by failed premium payments.
We need someone who understands that an NSF should not simply be noted in a CRM and forgotten. It needs follow up.
POLICYHOLDER AND CARRIER SERVICE
Help existing customers with policy questions and service issues.
Contact insurance carriers to resolve problems.
Follow up on cancellations, reinstatements, policy changes, claims questions, and other service matters.
Document what happened and make sure the issue reaches a conclusion.
EXPERIENCE WITH THESE AREAS IS A BIG PLUS
Commission statements
Agent commission reconciliation
Chargebacks
Agent commission payments or payroll
Carrier commission disputes
Carrier contracting and appointments
Tracking agent production
Medicare operations
ACA operations
SunFire or similar insurance platforms
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You should already have experience working with a US insurance agency, IMO, FMO, insurance carrier, or similar US insurance organization.
You should have hands on experience with insurance agent licensing.
You should understand NSF, returned premiums, failed drafts, or insurance payment recovery.
You should have experience dealing directly with insurance carriers and policyholders.
You should be organized and persistent.
You should be comfortable picking up the phone and solving a problem.
You should be able to manage multiple open issues without losing track of them.
Most importantly, we want someone who follows through.
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
Please do not apply if your experience is primarily:
General virtual assistance
Appointment setting
Lead generation
Insurance sales only
Generic BPO customer service
Healthcare customer service without US insurance operations experience
We are purposely looking for someone with actual US insurance operations experience.
WHY THIS COULD BE A GOOD OPPORTUNITY
Shore Legacy Insurance is growing.
We want someone who can take responsibility for an important part of our insurance operations and become someone we can rely on.
For the right person, there should be plenty to learn and additional areas to take responsibility for as the agency grows.
This is a long term remote independent contractor opportunity for someone located in the Philippines.
HOW TO APPLY
Please answer every question below. Applications that do not answer these questions will not be reviewed.
