JOB OVERVIEW

We are a UK-based accounting firm operating under two brands:

• Walji & Co – a long-established UK practice
• Capture Accounting – specialist accountants for content creators and social media influencers

We are growing and looking for a serious, experienced UK bookkeeper to join our remote team.

We already have three Filipino tea ---------- mbers and we are looking to expand carefully with the right person.

This is NOT a basic data entry role.
This is NOT an accounts payable/receivable clerk role.

We are looking for someone who understands UK bookkeeping properly.

Important – Please Read Before Applying

You MUST have:

• At least 3+ years experience working in a UK accounting firm or servicing UK clients
• Experience preparing and reviewing UK VAT returns
• Strong Xero knowledge (confident, not beginner)
• Experience closing month-end books independently

If you do not have UK experience, please do not apply.

Your Role:

You will:

• Support a UK-based Client Manager
• Manage bookkeeping for UK limited companies
• Reconcile bank, Stripe, PayPal and ecommerce platforms for our content creator clients
• Prepare VAT returns (UK and sometimes EU)
• Maintain accurate balance sheets
• Spot and fix errors (not wait to be told)
• Follow structured processes and checklists

You will NOT:

• Only post invoices
• Only do AR/AP
• Only reconcile simple transactions

We need someone who can pick up a messy set of books and make sense of it.

What We’re Looking For

You are:

• Detail-oriented
• Comfortable asking intelligent questions
• Confident working independently
• Able to explain what you’ve done clearly
• Strong with accounting logic (not just data entry)
• Calm under pressure

Bonus if you have worked with:

• Content creators / influencers
• Ecommerce businesses
• Multi-currency clients

Software We Use:

• Xero (essential)
• QBO
• Hubdoc
• Dext
• Slack
• Zoom
• Notion
• Office 365

Experience with Stripe, PayPal, Shopify is a strong advantage.

Working Hours

Full-time remote position.

Typical working hours:
8am – 4pm UK time (GMT/BST)

Reliable high-speed internet required.

You will attend daily or regular Zoom check-ins.
