JOB OVERVIEW

About YY Nation

YY Nation is a sustainable sneaker brand from New Zealand. We make shoes from merino wool, cactus leather, hemp and other natural materials, because we think the shoe industry has leaned on plastic for far too long.

The Role

Video content powers our Meta ads, and we need a lot more of it. We're looking for someone to build and run our creator engine: finding the right micro influencers, getting them on board, and keeping a steady flow of great UGC and edited videos coming in every week.

You'll start by focusing on outreach and building the pipeline. As you learn the brand, you'll take on briefing creators and editors yourself, using our guidelines and creative strategy.

This is a long-term role with room to grow into a bigger part of our marketing team.

What You'll Do

*Creator outreach and management*

- Find micro influencers and UGC creators on Instagram and TikTok who fit our brand, mainly in New Zealand, Australia and the USA
- Reach out by DM and email, and follow up without being annoying
- Negotiate rates and usage rights within our budget and standard offer (a paid test video first, then ongoing work if it goes well)
- Coordinate product seeding: collect sizes and addresses and track shipments
- Keep creators on schedule and chase up late deliverables
- Manage creator platforms

*Briefing and quality control (once you're up to speed)*

- Write clear creative briefs for creators and editors using our brand guidelines, personas and angles
- Review incoming content against the brief before it reaches us
- Give clear, specific feedback and request revisions

*Organisation*

- Keep our creator and editor database up to date: contacts, rates, rights, status and performance
- Track usage rights and expiry dates so we never run content we don't have rights to
- Name and file all content according to our naming convention

What We're Looking For

- 2+ years in influencer marketing, UGC sourcing, creator partnerships or talent management
- Excellent written English. Your DMs need to sound warm and natural to people in New Zealand and the USA.
- You know what good UGC looks like and can spot a creator who fits a brand
- Highly organised and comfortable juggling lots of conversations at once
- Persistent and self-driven. Outreach is a numbers game and you don't mind hearing no
- Comfortable with Instagram, TikTok, Google Sheets and Notion

Bonus Points

- Experience with fashion, footwear, apparel or sustainable brands
- You've managed creators for paid social ads, not just organic posts
- Basic understanding of Meta ads and what makes a video convert
- You've written creative briefs before

What Success Looks Like

- A steady flow of new creators contacted every week
- A pipeline that delivers usable UGC videos per week
- A bench of 2 to 3 tested, reliable video editors
- Within 2 months, you're briefing creators and editors with minimal input from us

How to Apply

Please include:

1. Examples of brands or creator campaigns you've worked on (links if possible)
2. How you find and vet creators before reaching out
3. A sample DM you would send to a micro influencer asking them to create a video for YY Nation (take a look at ---------- first)
4. Your availability and earliest start date
