The Opportunity
-ZERA is a fast-growing health supplement brand specializing in high-potency Ethiopian Black Seed Oil. We are seeking a talented and highly skilled video editor to join our direct-response marketing team. This is a remote, full-time contract role focused on producing high-volume, direct-response video ads for Meta platforms (Facebook/Instagram).

-You will be responsible for creating compelling, story-driven "Unaware VSL" (Video Sales Letter) style ads modeled after a highly specific and successful format. This is an opportunity to become a key player in a high-growth brand and see your work directly impact business results.

The Brand: ZERA
-Product: ZERA Ethiopian Black Seed Oil
-Form: 3000mg high-potency softgels
-Key Differentiators: Cold-pressed from Ethiopian Nigella sativa seeds, naturally rich in thymoquinone (TQ), and delivered in an easy-to-swallow softgel format that eliminates the harsh taste of liquid oils.

The Job
-Core Responsibilities
Deliverables: Produce one batch of content per day
Length: Each video will be 1.5 to 3 minutes long.
Format: All ads must be in 9:16 vertical format for Meta (Instagram Reels, Facebook Stories, etc.).

-Workflow & Tools
Scripts: All ad scripts will be written and provided by the brand. You will not be responsible for copywriting.
Voiceover: All voiceover audio will be generated using ElevenLabs and provided by the brand. You must be comfortable working with and pacing to AI-generated audio.
Footage: B-roll will be sourced from Gridbank and other stock footage libraries. You will be responsible for selecting the most impactful clips to match the script and pacing.
Software: You may use your preferred editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
Brand Assets: A full suite of brand assets (logo, color palette, etc.) will be provided.

-The Style: Unaware VSL
This is the most critical component of the job. We are not creating typical social media ads. We are creating direct-response video sales letters designed for a "completely unaware" audience. This means the ad does not lead with the product. Instead, it enters a conversation already happening in the viewer's mind.

The style is based on a specific, high-performing ad format. A reference video will be provided, but the core elements are as follows:
Structure & Flow
-The ad follows a precise narrative structure designed to build curiosity, establish a problem, and then reveal the product as the inevitable solution.

Pacing & Tone
-Pacing: Cuts should be quick, generally every 2-4 seconds, to maintain high engagement. The pace should feel urgent but allow the voiceover to remain the primary focus.
-Voiceover: The tone is conversational, serious, and confessional. It should feel like one person sharing a powerful secret, not a corporate announcement. The provided ElevenLabs audio will match this style.
-Music: There should be no music, or it should be extremely subtle and atmospheric. The voiceover must dominate the audio mix.

On-Screen Elements
-Captions: This is a signature element. Captions must be synced word-for-word or phrase-by-phrase with the voiceover. Use a large, bold, sans-serif font. One key "power word" in each caption phrase should be highlighted with a specific brand color (to be provided). The rest of the text is white. Captions are placed directly on the video with no background box

B-Roll Usage
B-roll selection is critical. It must be a dynamic mix of different styles to keep the viewer engaged:
-Emotional/Problem Footage: Clips that visually represent the viewer's pain point (e.g., someone looking stressed, footage of joint pain).
-Medical/Authority Footage: Stock clips of doctors, scientists, labs, and medical settings to build credibility.
-Mechanism Animations: 3D medical animations or scientific visualizations that explain how the product works (e.g., showing blood cells in an artery).
-Ingredient/Process Footage: Clips of the raw ingredient (black seed) and the production process (cold-pressing).
-UGC-Style Proof: Authentic, phone-shot style clips of people using the product or showing their results.

Approval & Revisions
-All final cuts will be approved directly by the client (Gavin)
-We expect a higher number of revisions during the first 1-2 weeks as we dial in the precise style and pacing.
-After this initial period, we aim for no more than 1-2 minor revisions per batch Compensation
-This is a monthly retainer-based position. The specific amount will be determined based on experience and a paid trial period.
-After a successful 1-month trial, a performance-based bonus structure will be implemented, tied to a percentage of ad spend.

What We're Looking For in an Editor
-You understand the "Unaware VSL" format. You can demonstrate an ability to replicate the structure and pacing of the reference ad with precision.
-You have a strong sense of rhythm and pacing. You know when to make a cut to emphasize a point and how to use b-roll to build and release tension.
-You are a storyteller. You can look at a script and a folder of b-roll and see the emotional arc of the story.
-You are reliable and fast. You can consistently deliver a batch of 4 high-quality ads every day.
-You are communicative and coachable. You can take direct feedback and iterate quickly without ego.
-Experience with health and wellness supplement ads is highly preferred.
-Experience working with AI-generated voiceover is a plus.
