**JOB TYPE:** Part-time, 20 hrs/week
**SALARY:** $450–650 USD/month, depending on experience
**COMPANY:** Vohana DMC
**ABOUT US**
Vohana DMC is a destination management company in Hawai'i. We handle the ground side of travel across O'ahu, Maui, Kaua'i, and the Big Island — operator relationships, bookings, on-island logistics — for travel advisors whose clients are heading to the islands. The advisor designs the trip. We make it actually happen once their client lands.
We're growing our presence in the US travel advisor community, where thousands of independent advisors sell Hawai'i without a dedicated partner on the ground here. We want to be the Hawai'i partner they think of first.
**THE ROLE**
You'll be our voice in the travel advisor community. You'll spend your time in forums and groups where advisors ask questions, share problems, and look for help — and you'll be the person who shows up, joins the conversation, and is genuinely useful.
Here's the important part: **you don't need to already know Hawai'i.** We live here. When an advisor asks something you can't answer, you bring it to us, we give you the real answer, and you take it back to the conversation. Over time you'll build serious Hawai'i knowledge — but it comes from us, not from you inventing it.
What we're hiring for is the personality and the consistency. Someone who's curious, likable in writing, asks good questions, and shows up every week.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
- Be active daily in travel advisor forums and groups — reading, replying, joining conversations
- Answer Hawai'i questions using knowledge we give you; ask us when you don't know
- Study the islands consistently: hotels, activities, seasons, what makes each island different
- Notice which advisors are working on Hawai'i trips and start real relationships with them
- Flag good opportunities to us so we can follow up
- Keep simple notes on who you're talking to and what they need
- Make occasional light visuals in Canva
- Learn our DESK booking platform (we'll train you)
**WHO THIS IS FOR**
Someone a little obsessed with travel. You read hotel reviews for fun and you'd happily fall down a research rabbit hole about Kaua'i's north shore. You're warm and natural in writing — people reply to you. You're not afraid to say "let me find out" instead of bluffing.
**WHO THIS IS NOT FOR**
This is a remote role based in the Philippines. There is no travel involved. If you're applying hoping for trips to Hawai'i, this isn't it. We need someone who loves the *industry* — the hotels, the itineraries, the craft of putting a trip together.
Also not for you if you go quiet. This role only works if you show up consistently and stay in touch with us.
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Excellent, natural written English — you sound like a person, not a brochure
- Genuinely interested in travel and hospitality
- Self-directed. Most of your work happens while Hawai'i is asleep
- Comfortable asking questions rather than guessing
- Google Workspace, Canva, and comfortable with AI tools for research
- Reliable internet, quiet workspace
**NICE TO HAVE**
- Travel, hospitality, or tourism background
- Community management, forum moderation, or social media experience
- Experience with a CRM
**SCHEDULE & PAY**
- 20 hrs/week, mostly async on your own schedule
- A few fixed check-in hours weekly overlapping Hawai'i time
- $450–650 USD/month
- Performance bonus available once you're up and running
- Long-term role with room to grow to full-time as the channel scales
**HOW TO APPLY**
Start your application with the word **HONU** so I know you read this.
Then answer briefly:
1. What travel brand, blog, or creator do you follow closely, and what do they do well?
2. Tell us about an online community you've been genuinely active in — any kind, doesn't have to be work. What did you post about?
3. What's your available start date and weekly schedule?
Applications without the codeword or without answers to all three questions won't be reviewed.
