We are looking for an expert-level YouTube Video Editor who can create premium, retention-focused long-form content for top creators and brands. This role is best suited for editors who understand high-quality YouTube storytelling in the style of channels such as Vox, Johnny Harris, Cleo Abram, and other documentary/explainer-style creators. We are not looking for basic editors, short-form-only editors, or editors who simply add cuts and captions. We are looking for someone with strong creative judgment, technical skill, and the ability to turn raw footage and direction into a polished, engaging, and thoughtful YouTube video. The ideal editor understands pacing, story structure, audience retention, visual clarity, motion graphics, sound design, and how every editing choice affects the viewer’s experience.
Responsibilities
Edit high-quality long-form YouTube videos for creators, brands, and educational content.
Build strong hooks that make viewers want to keep watching.
Shape raw footage into a clear and engaging story.
Use B-roll, archival footage, graphics, music, sound design, and visual references intentionally.
Create clean motion graphics, maps, text animations, callouts, and visual explanations when needed.
Improve pacing, flow, clarity, and retention throughout the video.
Follow creative direction while also bringing your own strong editorial judgment.
Apply feedback quickly and professionally.
Work with creative leads, producers, and post-production teams to meet high creative standards.
Deliver polished edits on time in a fast-moving YouTube-first environment.
Qualifications
Strong experience editing long-form YouTube videos.
Expert-level skill in Adobe Premiere Pro.
Expert-level skill in Adobe After Effects and motion graphics.
Good understanding of Photoshop or other Adobe Creative Suite tools.
Strong storytelling and pacing instincts.
Ability to create documentary, explainer, talking-head, educational, or creator-style edits.
Strong use of B-roll, archival footage, visual references, graphics, sound design, and music.
Understanding of audience retention, viewer engagement, and YouTube performance.
Experience editing high-performing or high-quality content for creators, agencies, brands, or media companies.
Ability to work with feedback, revisions, and tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and clean technical execution.
Reliable computer/workstation setup and strong internet connection.

Editors with only wedding, corporate, event, or basic social media editing experience.
Editors who are not comfortable with long-form YouTube content.
Editors who only follow instructions but do not bring creative judgment.
Editors who cannot work with feedback or tight deadlines.
