We are a property management company in New Jersey. We are hiring a full-time Tenant Relocation Specialist to call tenants and negotiate voluntary move-outs.
When an owner needs to renovate an apartment, we ask the current tenant to move out. In return, we offer a relocation package: moving expenses plus return of their security deposit. Your job is to explain this clearly and kindly, answer their questions, handle objections, and work with them toward a signed agreement and a smooth move-out.
What you will do:
- Call tenants (and follow up by text/email) to explain the situation and the offer
- Build trust and keep a respectful, calm tone, even when tenants are upset or worried
- Negotiate move-out terms and dates within the guidelines I give you
- Handle objections and tough questions with good judgment
- Keep clear notes on every call and every tenant (status, concerns, next steps)
- Follow up consistently until the case is resolved
- Report to me daily on progress
Requirements:
- Excellent spoken and written English with a clear, natural, easy-to-understand accent. This is the most important requirement
- Very high common sense and sharp judgment. You will often need to think on your feet
- Strong social skills: warm, patient, confident, and persuasive without being pushy
- Good negotiation and persuasion skills (experience in sales, customer service, collections, or phone work is helpful but not required)
- Reliable, organized, self-managed, and able to follow up without being reminded
- Stable internet and a quiet workspace, with a good headset
- Able to work US business hours (Eastern Time), Monday to Friday
Big plus:
- Fluent Spanish (many of our tenants speak Spanish)
No real estate experience needed. We will train you.
How to apply:
Please include a short voice recording (1-2 minutes) introducing yourself in English, and tell me about a time you successfully negotiated or resolved a difficult situation with someone. Also tell me whether you speak Spanish. Applications without the recording will not be considered.
