Why this role exists
Our founders don’t need more resumes. They need clear judgment, high-signal pipelines, and outbound rooted in real triggers.

This role exists to do exactly that—combining technical sourcing, GTM research, and written decision-making into one tight operating loop.

This is not a generic VA role. It’s an operator role with real responsibility and visibility.

Mission
Build Canada-only engineering pipelines and trigger-based outbound that leads to real founder conversations—through evidence-backed sourcing, strong written judgment, and disciplined execution.

What you’ll actually own
1) Technical sourcing (primary focus)
- Produce ~50-100 new Canada-based engineering leads per week
- Deliver 20–35 A-tier candidates with real proof (links + evidence notes)
- Maintain clean, structured data (no duplicates, no padding)
- Continuously improve search strategies across LinkedIn, GitHub, and X-ray

2) Manual GTM trigger research
- Research ~20 trigger-qualified companies per day
- Log only real triggers (funding, hiring pain, stalled roles, team changes, tech signals)
- Clearly explain why each trigger is actionable now

3) Insight-led outbound drafting
- Draft 10–20 outbound messages per day
- Every message tied to a real trigger (no trigger = no message)
- Written for founders and CTOs—clear, specific, and grounded

4) Same-day role memos + coordination
- Write a 1-page role memo immediately after client intake
- Capture judgment clearly: must-haves, tradeoffs, sourcing plan
- Handle light coordination and status updates with candidates and clients

How your time typically breaks down
~60% sourcing & shortlists
~25% trigger research
~10% outbound drafting
~5% memos & coordination

(Exact mix shifts by week, but sourcing quality always comes first.)

What success looks like
In your first 30 days
* Your lists are clean, accurate, and easy to trust
* Your evidence notes show real technical judgment
* Your writing is clear and structured

By 60 days
* Recruiters accept most of your A-tier recommendations
* Your outbound messages earn replies
* Role memos require minimal edits

By 90 days
* You operate like a pipeline owner
* You proactively improve how we source and research
* Founders and recruiters trust your judgment without needing hand-holding

What we’re looking for (non-negotiable)
* Proven experience sourcing technical / engineering talent
* Strong written communication (clarity > perfect grammar)
* Comfort working in Google Sheets with discipline (dedupe, tagging, QA)
* Evidence-based thinking—you can explain why someone is strong
* High integrity (no padding, no fabrication, no guessing)
* Comfortable working async with daily written updates and early escalation

Nice to have
* Experience sourcing Canadian engineers
* Agency or startup recruiting background
* Exposure to multiple engineering specialties
* Prior work that blends research + writing + execution

This role is not a fit if you:
* Only have generic VA or admin experience
* Can’t show real sourcing output
* Write generic outbound messages
* Dislike structured work or documentation
Struggle with ownership and judgment calls
