Long-Term Position | Growth Opportunities
We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer & Bookkeeper to join our team for a long-term position with opportunities for growth.
This position is for someone who already has solid experience and can work independently. We are NOT looking for someone who needs constant guidance or basic tax training.
We want someone who can take a tax return or bookkeeping assignment, understand what needs to be done, complete it accurately, and submit it ready for review.
What We’re Looking For
Tax Preparation
Minimum 2+ years of professional tax preparation experience
Strong understanding of U.S. federal tax laws and regulations
Strong knowledge of common individual tax forms and schedules
Ability to understand tax documents and identify missing or inconsistent information
Ability to prepare tax returns accurately with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform your own quality control before submitting a return
Understanding of tax compliance and due diligence requirements
Business tax return experience is a strong plus — including Schedule C, partnerships, S-Corporations, and/or other business returns
Bookkeeping
Experience with QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles
Ability to categorize transactions accurately
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Accounts payable/receivable experience is a plus
Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve bookkeeping issues
Ability to keep company books clean, organized, and up to date
Books must be completed and ready for review at the end of each month
The Type of Person We Need
We are looking for someone who is:
Proactive — you look for solutions instead of waiting to be told every step
Fast and efficient, especially during tax season
Detail-oriented and organized
Comfortable working independently
Able to meet deadlines
A strong communicator
Reliable and consistent
Willing to ask questions when something genuinely needs clarification
Able to manage multiple clients and priorities
Interested in building a long-term career, not just finding seasonal work
During Tax Season
Tax season moves quickly. We need someone who can handle a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy.
You should be able to:
Receive the file ? Review the information ? Prepare the return ? Perform your own quality check ? Submit it READY FOR REVIEW.
We do not want to spend our time correcting basic mistakes or walking you through every step of the return.
Technology Requirements
You must have:
Reliable computer
Reliable high-speed internet
Ability to work remotely without connectivity issues
Comfortable working with cloud-based software
QuickBooks Online experience
Ability to learn and work with our internal systems and software
Application Requirements — READ CAREFULLY
Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be considered.
Then tell us:
Your name
How many years of tax preparation experience you have
How many years of bookkeeping experience you have
Your experience with QuickBooks Online
What types of tax returns you have prepared
Whether you have experience with business returns
Why you believe you are a good fit for this position
Do not read your resume. We want to hear you explain your experience in your own words.
2. Internet Speed Test
Send a screenshot of your most recent internet speed test showing:
Download speed
Upload speed
Ping/latency
We need to know that you have a reliable and fast internet connection for remote work.
If your home internet is not reliable, explain what your backup option is (for example, a coworking space, office, or nearby location with reliable high-speed internet).
3. Resume
Please include your current resume with your application.
Important
This is a long-term opportunity, not simply a seasonal position.
If you are experienced, independent, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering quality work without constant supervision, we want to hear from you.
If you need someone to teach you basic tax preparation or bookkeeping step-by-step, this position is probably not the right fit.
