JOB OVERVIEW

We operate a growing portfolio of Shopify ecommerce stores across several niches, including fashion, lingerie, home decor, pet products, and more.

We work with our own private suppliers to support our fulfillment operations. When products go out of stock or need to be replaced, we use 1688 to find new suppliers or similar/alternative products. We do not use CJ, DSers, AliExpress, AutoDS, or any standard dropshipping platform.

We're looking for a true supply chain expert — someone who can guide us, improve our systems, and take full ownership. This is not a role where we teach you the basics. If we hire you, you should be the most experienced person in the room when it comes to ecommerce supply chain and supplier operations.

What You'll Do

Manage and maintain our private suppliers, and use 1688 to source new suppliers or similar/alternative products when items go out of stock or need to be replaced
Contact and manage suppliers directly — building and maintaining strong working relationships over time
Communicate with suppliers in English regarding orders, delays, quality issues, pricing, and negotiations
Track shipments daily across all stores and flag potential delays before they become problems
Resolve stuck, delayed, lost, or returned shipments with suppliers and logistics partners
Handle fulfillment escalations by coordinating refunds, replacements, and reshipments when needed
Manage Shopify order workflows, including exports, fulfillment updates, and tracking uploads
Oversee quality control: defect tracking, pre-shipment photos, sample checks, and supplier quality audits for new and existing products
Check and monitor COGS per product, flag price creep, and verify that supplier pricing stays consistent with agreements
Negotiate better pricing, faster shipping, improved terms, and MOQs as order volume increases
Build, improve, and manage our operational SOPs — we expect to follow your lead
Provide weekly reports on order volume, fulfillment times, delays, COGS changes, and supplier performance

Must-Have

4+ years of hands-on ecommerce supply chain experience with 1688 sourcing and private supplier management
Experience personally managing at least $50K/month in order volume
Extensive hands-on experience with Shopify — this is essential, including orders, fulfillment, and tracking management
Strong written English for supplier and internal communication
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills
Ability to manage operations across 5+ stores without losing control of details
A sharp eye for quality control and cost (COGS) management
Experience with international shipping to the UK, US, and EU
Experience creating SOPs or training VAs / operations assistants
Previous experience working directly for an ecommerce store or company

You are still new to 1688 sourcing
Your experience is mainly with CJ, DSers, AutoDS, or AliExpress automation tools
You are currently managing 10+ freelance clients and cannot give proper focus
You would need us to explain how 1688, supplier sourcing, or private fulfillment works
You're looking for a side gig rather than a serious, long-term role
