JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are an Australian structural engineering consultancy looking for an experienced structural AutoCAD draftsperson to join our team remotely on a long term basis.

This is not a tracing role. You will be expected to apply established structural systems and standard details to produce complete drawing packages, working from engineer markups, office standards, and precedent projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Draft structural drawings in AutoCAD for Australian residential and low rise commercial projects
• Apply standard structural systems and details to typical conditions
• Assemble complete drawing packages without requiring hand sketches for every element
• Revise drawings accurately from PDF markups
• Maintain layers, lineweights, title blocks, and drafting standards
• Identify and flag non standard conditions requiring engineer input
• Prepare clean PDF issue sets and manage revisions

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong AutoCAD skills with structural drafting experience
• Experience working in a consultancy environment with drafting standards
• Ability to work independently using precedent jobs and detail libraries
• High attention to detail and strong QA habits
• Good written English and willingness to ask questions
• Reliable internet and ability to meet Australian deadlines

NOT REQUIRED

• Revit or BIM
• Architectural drafting
• Tracing only work
• Engineering certification or sign off

WORKING HOURS

• Full time, Monday to Friday
• Must overlap at least 2 to 4 hours with Australian Eastern Standard Time

SALARY

• Competitive, based on experience
