Simplified Therapist Licensing is a growing startup that helps mental health professionals obtain professional licenses throughout the United States.
We are looking for an unusually resourceful, intelligent, and versatile Startup Operations Specialist. This is a broad role for someone who enjoys solving unfamiliar problems, creating systems, learning quickly, and helping wherever the business needs them most.
You may work on licensing applications, internal operations, client service, lead generation, sales support, process improvement, research, AI automation, and special projects. The responsibilities will evolve as the company grows.
This is not a narrowly defined administrative position. We want someone who can begin with an unclear objective, determine what needs to happen, and turn it into an organized, repeatable process.
For the right person, this position could grow into an Operations Manager or another leadership role.
What You May Work On
- Learn and manage portions of our client licensing process
- Research unfamiliar requirements and recommend practical solutions
- Document workflows and turn recurring work into standard operating procedures
- Build project trackers, quality-control systems, and internal dashboards
- Identify bottlenecks and improve inefficient processes
- Help recruit, onboard, train, and coordinate future team members
- Support lead generation, outreach, partnerships, and sales follow-up
- Research new markets, services, and growth opportunities
- Test and improve AI-assisted workflows and business automations
- Evaluate and implement software tools
- Assist with website, SEO, content, or analytics projects
- Draft professional
- Take ownership of important special projects from idea through completion
- Step into changing responsibilities as the company’s needs evolve
You will not be expected to know how to do everything immediately. You will be expected to learn quickly, ask intelligent questions, research independently, and take responsibility for producing a useful result.

- Can prioritize effectively when several things need attention
- Follow through reliably and close open loops
- Are comfortable receiving direct feedback and revising your work
- Know when to act independently and when a decision should be escalated
- Care about confidentiality, accuracy, and professional judgment
- Want to grow with a company rather than remain in a narrowly defined role
Required Qualifications

- Take ownership of recurring operational responsibilities
- Complete projects with progressively less supervision
- Create clear systems and documentation where none existed
- Identify problems before they become urgent
- Recommend improvements based on evidence
