Sourcing / Product Development Manager
Full-time | Remote
Are you looking for a role that allows you to use your creativity and problem-solving skills in real life?
We are a UK-based e-commerce company operating in the USA and UK, with two core physical product niches and clear product values that guide everything we create.
You will research new product ideas based on these guidelines and, once an idea is approved, develop it and push it into a real-life product that genuinely helps people.
Do you get a thrill from finding great suppliers, negotiating with factories and developing products?
You will be responsible for building our 12–18 month product pipeline and will have a big part in bringing our next generation of products to life. Our goal is to launch 10 new products over the next 12 months, while also constantly looking at our current products and asking: what could be better, what are customers missing and what problems can we solve?
You will be very hands-on throughout the whole process — from researching ideas and finding suppliers, to developing samples, working with product designers, negotiating with factories, optimising product costs and getting the final product into production.
You will also be responsible for monitoring product quality by coordinating third-party quality inspection companies and ensuring they have everything they need to properly inspect our products.
Every month, you will carefully analyse customer feedback and quality issues to identify opportunities for improvement. You will work directly with suppliers through regular problem-solving conversations via Zoom and WeChat, as well as analyse new product samples and improvements together with the CEO.
You will also lead projects for our products to be safety tested and submitted into relevant award competitions.
Other parts of the role will include:
Product research and idea development
Finding and evaluating new suppliers and factories
Product development and sample management
Packaging development with designers
Product cost optimisation
Factory negotiations
Customer feedback and product improvement
Product quality monitoring and third-party inspections
Working with product designers
Managing the product development pipeline
We are a remote female team and we do not do graveyard hours.
Do you want to work with a fantastic team that you can also learn from? Each person on our team has been carefully selected and their role adapted to suit their strengths. We are a team that takes our work seriously, moves quickly and wants to keep improving.
The company also supports all team members in getting access to the best training courses in their industry, so you can continue developing your skills and stay up to date with the latest information and knowledge.
E-commerce experience is a must.
Some IP knowledge is preferable but not a must.
Competitive salary based on experience.
If you are someone who is hands-on, commercially minded, fast-moving and genuinely excited by creating products, we would love to hear from you.
