JOB OVERVIEW

Company: Winnipeg Digest
Location: Remote
Availability: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Time
Reports to: Founder / Operator

Role Overview
Winnipeg Digest is hiring a highly organized Social / Paid Growth Operator to manage three connected growth systems:
1. Organic social content
2. Meta subscriber-growth campaigns
3. Seasonal campaigns and giveaways

This is an execution-focused role. The founder sets priorities, approves major changes, and owns overall strategy. You are responsible for turning those priorities into consistent, measurable execution.

The goal is simple: publish excellent content, grow the audience efficiently, and keep campaigns organized and on time.

Time Allocation during normal weeks:
• 70% Organic Social and Content
• 20% Paid Growth
• 10% Campaign Coordination and Reporting

During major seasonal campaigns, the allocation may temporarily shift toward campaign execution. Any increased workload will be planned in advance.

1. Organic Social and Content
You will own the consistent production and publishing of Winnipeg Digest’s organic social content.

Responsibilities:
• Publish approximately 7 to 10 social posts or carousels per week
• Maintain approximately two daily platform publishing actions across Instagram and Facebook, using cross-posting and repurposing when appropriate
• Repurpose newsletter stories into social content
• Write captions, headlines, carousel copy, and basic scripts
• Maintain the content calendar at least one week ahead
• Research relevant content formats from local media, publishers, city accounts, and creators
• Adapt proven formats for Winnipeg Digest’s audience and brand voice
• Schedule content through Meta Business Suite
• Monitor basic comments, tags, shares, and engagement
• Track which topics, hooks, and formats perform best
• Recommend what to repeat, improve, or stop

Weekly Outputs
• 7 to 10 published pieces of content
• Content calendar updated and organized
• At least 3 useful content examples added to the swipe file
• At least 1 format or content test completed
• Weekly organic performance summary

2. Paid Growth
You will dedicate approximately one focused day per week to managing and improving approved Meta campaigns designed to grow the Winnipeg Digest newsletter audience.

Responsibilities:
• Review Meta campaigns every business day for major issues
• Conduct a deeper performance review once per week
• Track spend, CPA, CPM, CTR, conversion rate, subscriber growth, and creative performance
• Produce 3 to 5 new ad creative variations each week
• Repurpose strong organic content into paid creative
• Write ad copy, hooks, and basic creative concepts
• Identify creative fatigue and recommend replacements
• Deliver a weekly paid-growth report with clear next actions

The founder owns budget approval, major strategic decisions, and final approval for significant campaign changes.

3. Seasonal Campaigns and Giveaways
You will support the organization and day-to-day social execution of seasonal campaigns, including the 25 Days of Giveaways campaign running December 1 to December 25, 2026.

Responsibilities:
• Build social posts and Stories using approved templates
• Maintain the seasonal campaign calendar
• Track sponsors, prizes, captions, links, assets, approvals, and deadlines
• Prepare posts at least 72 hours ahead wherever possible
• Schedule giveaway posts and winner announcements
• Confirm all required assets are ready before publishing
• Maintain an accurate campaign tracker

The founder owns sponsor decisions, campaign positioning, major approvals, and final escalation decisions.

This role is responsible for execution, organization, and deadlines. It is not responsible for independently redesigning the campaign strategy.

Working Standards. You are expected to:
• Complete recurring work on time
• Keep the content calendar and trackers accurate
• Communicate blockers early
• Use checklists and repeatable systems
• Base recommendations on actual performance data
• Prioritize consistent execution over constantly chasing new ideas
• Maintain Winnipeg Digest’s warm, local, community-first voice

Required Experience
• Growing social media followings over 10,000 followers
• Instagram and Facebook content production
• Meta Business Suite
• Meta Ads Manager
• Content calendars and scheduling
• Carousels, captions, Reels, Stories, and basic creative
• Basic paid advertising analysis
• Strong written English
• Organization and deadline management
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with Canva, CapCut, Notion, Beehiiv, or similar tools is preferred

Success Metrics
• After the first 60 days, success will be measured by:
• 7 to 10 quality social posts published weekly
• No missed publishing deadlines
• Content calendar maintained at least 7 days ahead
• Weekly organic and paid reports delivered on time
• Consistent production of new creative tests
• Improving or stable organic engagement
• Subscriber acquisition campaigns monitored and optimized
• Seasonal campaign assets prepared ahead of deadlines
• Fewer founder follow-ups required over time
