HIRING: Part-Time Social Media Content Strategist & Creative Producer
$7/hour | Around 25 hours/week
This is a Los Angeles-based company which has rarely let go of employees, so anyone valuing a stable job should take this rare opportunity seriously. The right candidate will be able to grow this job into a full-time role within a year. We are a small, close-knit company that values stability, loyalty, thoughtful communication, and long-term working relationships. We have high standards, but we also want the right person to grow with us, become deeply trusted, and build something lasting here.
Kids On Stage is an award-winning Los Angeles performing arts company that has provided theater classes, musical theater programs, camps, and enrichment experiences for children and teens since 1987.
This is not a short-term gig, strategy-only position, or basic graphic-design role.
We are looking for someone who can plan and execute our social media strategy and content from beginning to end, and take ownership of and accountability for engagement outcomes. So you would be responsible for results not just posts, and making KOS the social media leader among its rivals within 6 months, and maintain that position. Finding out how to do that while staying on-brand and sensitive to the likes and dislikes of KOS parents will be your challenge.
The hours will vary depending on need, but we expect that to be 20-25 hrs; some weeks may be higher. You would propose time budgets for significant projects and we’d discuss and approve them. You will work closely with multiple colleagues and also work with the CEO on getting your designs and reels approved.
The majority of the work will involve:
- Big picture view and goal-setting for social media leadership
- Automate reporting and metrics tracking of KOS and its rivals
- Developing monthly content plans and original ideas
- Editing Reels and YouTube Shorts from supplied footage
- Writing hooks, captions, scripts, and calls to action
- Creating graphics, carousels, covers, testimonials, and enrollment posts
- Publishing and repurposing content across Instagram,
- Reviewing performance and recommending improvements
You must have:
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Eagerness to smartly use AI everywhere to streamline processes and speed things up; use AI and automation for everything that can use it, and use your judgment and eye on things that need it.
- Strong short-form video-editing skills on Canva, Capcut, or other platforms
- Solid Canva and/or Adobe design skills
- Experience planning content - not only editing assigned footage
- Ability to follow detailed brand standards while developing fresh, brand-aligned ideas
- Ability to put the company first and be persuasive to everyone, from CEO on down, why your choices and decision make sense.
- Not be conflict-avoidant, be willing to speak truth to power, even disagree with the CEO every week if need be.
- A professional attitude toward feedback and revisions
- Superb organizational and filing methods
- A reliable computer, Internet connection, Internet backup, and remote-work setup
