We're 2020 Hindsight Marketing, a NYC-based agency managing social media for 6 Korean restaurants — from high-end speakeasies and upscale dessert boutiques to modern Korean dining. We need a full-time, Philippines-based Social Media Manager who can handle influencer outreach, content creation, and community management across Instagram and TikTok.
What you'll actually do every day:
You'll manage influencer outreach for NYC restaurants — identifying the right influencers, evaluating their audience (not just their follower count), writing personalized DMs, and tracking every interaction across multiple Google Sheets. You'll handle content calendars, community engagement, and review responses across 6 restaurant accounts. You'll create Instagram posters and graphics in Canva and edit short-form video for Reels and TikTok. You'll source trending restaurant content on TikTok and log reference videos for our content pipeline.
The hardest parts of this job:
-Influencer judgment. Our restaurants range from a $1M-renovation dessert boutique on 5th Avenue to an Eater Top 10 speakeasy to a casual Korean pub. The influencer who's perfect for one is completely wrong for another. You need to look at an influencer's content, their audience, their vibe, and know which restaurant they belong with. This requires cultural awareness of the NYC dining scene — not just knowing what Korean food is, but understanding the difference between a premium modern Korean restaurant and a casual KBBQ spot, and why that distinction matters for marketing.
-Design and content quality. NYC's restaurant marketing scene is extremely competitive and constantly evolving. The posters, graphics, and videos you create need to look like they belong on a premium NYC restaurant's feed — not like a generic Canva template. You need a strong visual eye, an understanding of what's trending, and the ability to match your design style to each restaurant's unique brand and positioning.
What we need from you:
-Video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or similar — you'll be creating Reels and TikToks)
-Graphic design skills (Canva minimum, Photoshop/Illustrator a plus — you'll be creating posters and social media graphics that need to look premium)
-Strong English writing that sounds natural, not translated (Gen-Z/Millennial American tone)
-Google Sheets proficiency (data entry, filtering, basic formulas — you'll live in spreadsheets)
-Experience managing Instagram and/or TikTok accounts for food, restaurants, or hospitality
-Comfort working through an AI chatbot for daily task management (this is non-negotiable)
-Attention to detail — multiple sheets must be updated in parallel for every influencer action. Miss one update and the entire pipeline breaks.
Schedule & logistics:
Full-time, remote
Working hours: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM EST (1:00 AM – 9:00 AM Philippines Time)
Daily time tracking via Timeproof is required
You'll work on a dedicated agency MacBook via remote access
Who thrives here:
People who like structure. People who follow instructions precisely and ask questions when something is unclear instead of guessing. People who take pride in doing things right, not just doing things fast. People who can look at a restaurant's Instagram and immediately see what's working and what isn't.
Who does NOT thrive here:
People who treat checklists as checkboxes without doing the actual work. People who mark things "done" when they aren't. People who want creative freedom without oversight. If you need constant hand-holding to start tasks, or if you disappear without communicating, this won't work.
To apply:
Submit your application and we'll send you a short screening form (takes about 10 minutes). Candidates who advance will be invited to a paid video interview and test. We compensate your time for the final evaluation, we respect the effort!
