Social Media Expert (Instagram & YouTube)
Part-Time Remote Role | Philippines-Based | TrainerHQ

We're hiring a sharp, proactive Social Media Expert to lead and manage our social media presence across Instagram and YouTube.

This is not a basic admin role. We are looking for someone with genuine expertise in social media strategy, content direction, video editing, posting, performance analysis and growth across both platforms.

Trainer HQ is a business coaching company. We help personal trainers, online coaches, gym owners and studio owners build and grow better businesses. Our content is about business strategy, growth, marketing, sales, pricing and operations, created specifically for fitness professionals. We are not a fitness brand. We are an expert-led education and coaching brand that serves the fitness industry.

Right now, most of our social media content relies on the founders to come up with ideas, organise content and get posts live. As the business grows, that is no longer the best use of founder time.

We need someone who can take ownership of the social media process across both Instagram and YouTube, guide content direction, tell us what content is needed each week, edit and prepare content, and manage the planning, posting and optimisation so our brand shows up consistently and strategically on both channels.

The person we hire needs to be skilled at making business education and thought leadership content compelling, engaging and shareable. Our founders have the knowledge and the expertise. Your job is to help them package and present it in a way that stops the scroll, builds authority and grows our audience of fitness business owners.

What you'll be responsible for

1. Instagram

- Lead the weekly social media content plan for Instagram
- Develop content ideas aligned with our brand, audience and content pillars
- Create strong hooks, captions, post copy and calls to action designed to drive engagement and build authority
- Recommend the right mix of Reels, Stories, feed posts and other content formats
- Tell the founders exactly what content, footage, talking points or insights are needed each week
- Edit video content using raw founder footage, including B-roll, pacing, structure and overall presentation
- Prepare content so it is ready to publish in line with our brand and messaging
- Schedule and publish content consistently so execution does not rely on the founders
- Review analytics and performance data to identify what is working, what is not, and what needs to improve
- Make clear recommendations on content direction, testing and improvements each week

YouTube

- Lead the weekly and monthly content planning for YouTube alongside Instagram
- Develop video concepts and formats aligned with our brand and audience including long-form educational content and YouTube Shorts
- Advise the founders on video topics, talking points, structure and what content to record each week
- Edit long-form YouTube videos using raw founder footage including pacing, structure, B-roll, graphics, chapters and overall presentation
- Repurpose YouTube content for Instagram and repurpose Instagram content into YouTube Shorts where applicable
- Write strong YouTube titles, descriptions, tags and chapter markers optimised for search and discoverability (YouTube SEO)
- Create or direct the creation of thumbnails that are visually compelling and drive click-through
- Manage channel settings including playlists, end screens, cards and community posts
- Review YouTube analytics including watch time, click-through rate, audience retention and subscriber trends and use this data to improve content
- Make clear recommendations on what is working, what to test and what to change

What success looks like in this role

- Our Instagram and YouTube content is planned and executed consistently each week
- The founders are no longer carrying the load of organising, editing and posting content on either platform
- Content is more strategic, more engaging and better positioned to reach fitness business owners
- Business insights, frameworks and founder expertise are packaged in a way that builds credibility and authority
- Video content is edited well and presented in a way that keeps attention on both short-form and long-form
- Hooks, captions, titles and thumbnails improve over time and drive better results
- Content is intelligently repurposed across platforms without duplicating effort
- We see stronger engagement, better reach, better watch time and better audience response across both channels
- Reporting is clear, useful and tied to actual content decisions
- You take initiative and keep things moving without needing to be chased

We're looking for someone who

- Has proven experience managing and growing both Instagram and YouTube accounts strategically
- Understands how to make expert-led, education-based content engaging and compelling on social media
- Can develop content ideas that match a clear target market and brand position
- Can write strong hooks, captions, YouTube titles and post copy in clear, natural English
- Has strong video editing skills and can turn raw founder footage into strong content for both short-form and long-form
- Understands pacing, structure, B-roll, attention retention and what makes short-form and long-form content perform
- Understands YouTube SEO and how to optimise for discoverability and watch time
- Knows how to create or direct thumbnails that drive click-through
- Knows how to interpret metrics across both platforms and use analytics to guide content decisions
- Is organised, proactive and confident in driving a weekly content workflow across two channels
- Can work well with founders and extract content from busy people
- Understands brand voice and can stay consistent with it across platforms
- Has strong attention to detail and follows through

Bonus if you have

- Experience working with coaching, consulting or education brands
- Experience working with founder-led or expert-led brands where content is knowledge and insight driven
- Experience creating content for service-based businesses or B2B audiences
- A strong eye for what performs in short-form video
- Experience growing a YouTube channel from a small base
- Experience with cross-platform content repurposing strategies

Role details

- Part-time remote role
- Philippines-based
- Starting at approximately 10 to 20 hours per week
- Scope to grow over time if the fit is strong and the role expands into a full time role
- Ongoing role for the right person
