Job Description

Absolute Plumbing Solutions is a small, family-owned plumbing and heating company in British Columbia, Canada. We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media & Email Marketing Specialist to take ownership of our social media and monthly email marketing.

We already have an established brand, an active business, customer reviews, community involvement, and a team in the field who can provide photos and video. We need someone who knows what to do with it.

For social media, we don't want someone who simply waits for us to send a photo and then posts it. We want someone who understands content strategy and can proactively tell our team what photos, videos and information to capture so you have the material needed to create better content.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage our social media content plan
Manage primarily Instagram and Facebook
Tell our team what photos, videos and raw content you need from the field
Turn raw photos and video into polished, engaging posts and Reels
Edit short-form video and create graphics when needed
Write natural, engaging captions that fit our brand
Schedule and publish content consistently
Monitor analytics and use results to improve future content
Find creative ways to showcase our work, team, customer reviews, educational information and involvement in our local community
Take ownership of our monthly email newsletter, including writing/editing content, design, layout, building it in Constant Contact, testing and preparing it for sending
Repurpose strong content across social media, email and other appropriate channels
Bring us ideas and recommendations instead of waiting for instructions

What we're looking for

Proven experience managing social media for a business
Strong portfolio showing content you have personally created
Strong short-form video/Reels editing skills
Excellent written English
Good visual/design judgment
Experience with Instagram, Facebook/Meta Business Suite and Canva
Experience with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or Mailchimp
Understanding of social media analytics and how to use them to improve content
Organized, proactive and able to work independently
Experience marketing a local service business is an asset
