JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a creative and reliable freelancer to join our team at Mama Africa (event organization) as a Social Media Content Creator. This is a part-time freelance position to start, with potential to grow into a long-term role based on performance and fit.

**About the Role**

Your main responsibility will be creating engaging social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. You'll work with our existing brand materials and help develop new ones to produce fresh, eye-catching content that grows our audience and brings our events to life online.

**Responsibilities**

- Repurpose and refresh existing content into new formats
- Design banners, square posts, and promotional graphics
- Create carousel posts for Instagram and Facebook
- Create short-form Reels and TikTok videos
- Produce animated Stories and motion graphics
- Design recurring formats (e.g. monthly highlights, event calendars, weekly themes)
- Develop and design new brand identities and house styles for sub-brands, events, or campaigns (logos, color palettes, typography, templates, visual guidelines)
- Use AI tools to generate and enhance content (images, videos, copy, ideas) efficiently while keeping it on-brand
- Maintain a consistent brand look, tone, and color palette across all platforms

**Required Skills & Experience**

- Proven experience creating social media content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
- Strong design skills in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools
- Experience designing brand identities and house styles (logos, visual systems, brand guidelines)
- Video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or similar) for Reels, Stories, and animated posts
- Hands-on experience using AI tools for content creation (e.g. ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL·E, Runway, Sora, Leonardo, ElevenLabs, or similar)
- Good understanding of trends, hooks, and what performs on each platform
- Strong written English and attention to detail
- Reliable internet connection and ability to meet deadlines

**Nice to Have**

- Experience creating content for the events industry (festivals, parties, concerts, nightlife, etc.)
- Basic copywriting skills
- Knowledge of analytics tools (Meta Business Suite, TikTok Analytics)

**Working Arrangement**

- Part-time, freelance basis to start
- Flexible hours: work on your own schedule as long as deadlines are met
- Long-term collaboration possible for the right person
