JOB OVERVIEW

Part-Time Bookkeeper — Xero — Small US Business Owner (3 Sets of Books)

I run a small product company in Austin, Texas and need a reliable bookkeeper to keep three sets of books clean and current:

1. **FeelWise (Feel, Inc.)** — sells emotional intelligence flashcards and office products on Shopify and Amazon. Xero, with A2X for Amazon settlements. Stripe for some payments.
2. **Spoonbend Properties, LLC** — a small holding entity. Low transaction volume.
3. **Personal** — household finances. Simple categorization and monthly summary.

**What you'll do**

- Categorize transactions weekly in Xero
- Reconcile bank, credit card, Shopify, Stripe, and Amazon (A2X) accounts monthly
- Keep FeelWise, Spoonbend, and personal transactions strictly separate
- Flag anything you don't recognize instead of guessing
- Send a short monthly report per entity: P&L, balance sheet, cash position, open questions
- Track receipts and match them to transactions
- Prepare clean year-end files for the CPA (Texas franchise tax and federal returns)
- Ask questions early. I'd rather answer five questions than fix one wrong entry.

**You have**

- 2+ years bookkeeping for US small businesses
- Hands-on Xero experience (required)
- Experience with e-commerce payouts — Shopify and Amazon settlements, and how fees, refunds, and sales tax show up
- Comfort with A2X, or willingness to learn it in the first week
- Strong written English. Most communication is async over email or Slack.
- Attention to detail. You'll be handling three entities and mixing them up is the one thing that can't happen.
