We are a UK-based garden and landscape design studio looking for a highly skilled SketchUp Technician to join our team on an ongoing part-time basis. If you are detail-oriented, fast, and experienced in creating accurate 3D environments from 2D plans, we’d love to meet you.
Role Overview
You will support our design team by turning 2D architectural drawings into accurate 3D SketchUp models. A strong understanding of site topography and Toposhaper is essential. You will be responsible for building clean, organised SketchUp files that our designers can quickly develop into final garden concepts.
This is a long-term role with consistent weekly work, and the opportunity to grow into more hours for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create accurate 3D house models from 2D architectural drawings (PDF, DWG, or scanned plans).
• Use Toposhaper within SketchUp to build detailed, realistic topography.
• Prepare clean, organised, well-layered SketchUp files.
• Work from our internal guidelines and naming conventions.
• Turn around projects quickly and consistently.
• Communicate clearly and give updates proactively.
Required Skills & Experience
You must have:
• Advanced SketchUp proficiency (minimum 3 years recommended).
• Strong experience with Toposhaper (non-negotiable).
• Ability to interpret architectural plans accurately.
• Understanding of site levels, topography, and terrain modelling.
• Organised approach to file structure and modelling workflow.
• Fast, reliable work ethic and strong attention to detail.
• Good English communication skills.
Bonus skills (not required but beneficial):
• Basic knowledge of landscape or architectural design.
• Experience preparing models for Twinmotion (not essential).
Hours & Schedule
• 10 hours per week to start
• Flexible working time, but must be available for:
o 2–3 hours overlap with UK daytime (for quick amendments)

• Quick turnaround times required
This role may increase to 15–20 hours/week as we grow and depending on performance.
Wages:
• £5 per hour
• Paid monthly
• Long-term, ongoing contract for the right person
