JOB OVERVIEW

Fraser Signs Ltd is looking for an experienced freelance graphic designer to provide ad hoc remote design and artwork support when our in-house team requires additional capacity.

We manufacture and install a wide range of signage, vehicle graphics and large-format printed graphics. We are looking for someone who can take a customer brief, existing artwork, photographs, dimensions or sketches and turn these into professional customer visuals and accurate production-ready artwork.

This is not a full-time position. Work will be provided as required, making it suitable for an established freelancer or remote designer looking for additional regular work.

Typical Work

Projects may include:

Shopfront and fascia signage
Vehicle graphics and livery layouts
Window graphics and manifestations
Internal signage
Directional and wayfinding signage
Safety signage
Large-format printed graphics
ACM and panel signage
Hoarding and construction signage
Banners and promotional graphics
Customer presentation visuals
Recreating or cleaning up customer-supplied artwork
Preparing files for print, cutting or manufacture
Responsibilities

The designer will typically be provided with a brief including dimensions, photographs, customer artwork and other relevant information.

You will be expected to:

Produce clear and professional customer visuals/mock-ups
Create designs accurately to supplied dimensions
Follow existing customer branding and brand guidelines
Prepare artwork suitable for large-format printing and vinyl cutting
Set up cut paths, bleed and other production requirements where required
Check artwork resolution and suitability for production
Recreate logos or artwork where suitable vector files are unavailable
Make customer-requested amendments efficiently
Return organised, editable artwork files to Fraser Signs
Highlight any missing information or potential production issues before artwork is approved
Software & Skills

Applicants should have strong experience with:

Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
PDF and vector artwork preparation
Working accurately to scale and dimensions
Preparing print-ready artwork

Experience with signage, vehicle graphics, large-format printing or print production is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of RIP software, CNC/router artwork preparation or other signage production processes would also be advantageous.

We are particularly interested in someone who:

Works quickly and accurately
Understands that signage design must be practical to manufacture and install
Can interpret relatively simple briefs without excessive supervision
Has excellent attention to detail
Communicates clearly
Can normally provide a quick turnaround during UK working hours
Is comfortable handling revisions
Can maintain consistent standards across different projects
Working Arrangement

This is intended to be a flexible, ad hoc relationship rather than a fixed-hours employment position.

Some weeks may involve little or no work, while busier periods may require several hours or days of support.

We would initially like to work on an hourly basis with no guaranteed minimum number of hours, allowing both parties to assess how well the arrangement works.

If successful, there is potential for the volume of work to increase and for the designer to become a regular external resource for Fraser Signs.
