About the role

I'm a venture capital investor based in London. I make short-form video about startups, funding, business strategy, culture and career, explainers, founder breakdowns, and a weekly series on who just raised money and why. The audience is smart, ambitious, mostly women, and allergic to fluff.

I film in batches once or twice a week: talking-head pieces to camera, walk-and-talk footage shot on a DJI Osmo Pocket, and screen recordings. I need an editor who can turn that raw footage into finished, ready-to-post verticals without me having to explain every time, so if you know a bit about tech and AI, have an interest, that would be great!!

This is a long-term working relationship, not a one-off gig. If it goes well, volume and pay both go up.

What you'll do
Edit 8–15 short-form videos per week (30–90 seconds each) from batch-filmed raw footage
Cut talking-head footage tightly for pace, remove filler, dead air, false starts, repeated takes, but also keep my style of editing
Write and time burned-in captions that are accurate to business and finance vocabulary (term sheet, Series A, valuation cap, down round, LP, dilution)
Add b-roll, screenshots, headlines, charts, text overlays, zooms and pattern interrupts so the first 3 seconds hold
Source relevant stock and screen-recorded b-roll where needed
Cut alternate versions of the same video for different hooks when I ask
Export clean 9:16 masters for TikTok and Instagram, plus cover/thumbnail frames
Keep files organised in Google Drive with clear naming, and track status in Notion
What I'm looking for
Real portfolio of vertical short-form work — TikTok or Reels, not YouTube long-form or wedding videos
Strong CapCut and/or Adobe Premiere Pro skills (After Effects a plus, not required)
Excellent written English comprehension. You'll be cutting dialogue for meaning, so you need to follow an argument and know where a sentence ends. Auto-captions full of misspelled finance terms are the fastest way to lose this job
Genuine familiarity with what's currently working on TikTok and Instagram trends, pacing, caption styles, hook structures
Reliable turnaround: first cut within 48 hours of receiving footage
Communicative. If something's unclear or the footage is unusable, tell me the same day, don't disappear
Able to take direct feedback and apply it across future edits without being told twice
Nice to have
Interest in business, startups, tech or finance
Experience editing for a personal brand or founder-led account
Motion graphics, animated text, simple data visualisation
Thumbnail and carousel design in Canva
Tools

CapCut or Premiere Pro, Google Drive, Notion, Canva. I'll provide brand fonts, colours and reference edits.
