We’re a small NYC based nonprofit working to support mental health and su
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows their way around WordPress and can work efficiently, communicate clearly, and bring thoughtful improvements to our site.
This is a project-based role, open to part-time or full-time hours over the next few weeks. You’ll work directly with our small team to assess what’s working, what’s not, and make thoughtful updates that support the people who rely on our work.
What we need help with:
-Updating page layouts and content within WordPress (block editor and theme-based)
-Improving UX — making sure the site is easy to navigate and intuitive for visitors
-Optimizing for mobile responsiveness and performance
-Cleaning up menus and internal navigation
-Improving accessibility (e.g., alt text, headings, contrast, keyboard navigation)
-Embedding or updating forms (contact, newsletter, donations)
-Addressing any basic SEO or metadata gaps
-Tidying up plugins and backend clutter
What we’re looking for:
-Strong hands-on experience with WordPress (not just page builders)
-Solid grasp of UX design principles
-Familiarity with accessibility standards and responsive design best practices
-Ability to troubleshoot layout or plugin issues independently
-Comfort with basic HTML/CSS tweaks
-Strong communication and ability to stay aligned with our nonprofit’s tone and goals
-Bonus: experience with donation platforms, CRMs (like Salesforce), or nonprofit websites
Project Details:
-Short-term contract (6-8 weeks depending on your pace)
-Open to part-time or full-time hours
-Possibility of future work or ongoing support if it’s a good match
To apply:
Send us a short note about your experience, links to a few WordPress sites you’ve worked on, your hourly rate, and your availability over the next few weeks.
