JOB OVERVIEW

About the role

We’re looking for a Head of Short-Form Content to help me build my personal brand. You’ll edit around 10 short-form videos per month and work with me on how each video is shot, from camera angles and framing to the shots that make an edit work.

This isn’t a “send me footage, and I’ll cut it” role. We want someone with taste: someone who knows what keeps people watching and can make every video look and feel unmistakably like our brand.

What you’ll do
Edit around 10 short-form videos per month for TikTok and Instagram Reels
Guide me on camera angles, framing, and shot lists before filming, so the raw footage sets up a great edit
Keep every edit on brand: pacing, fonts, captions, colors, music, and overall feel
Build and maintain a simple editing style guide (templates, caption styles, transitions) so the look stays consistent
Write or tighten hooks, on-screen text, and captions so the first 2 seconds count
Keep an eye on trends, sounds, and formats, and suggest ones worth adapting for our brand
Create cover frames or thumbnails for the grid
Look at what’s performing and use it to shape future edits

What we’re looking for
A portfolio of short-form edits for TikTok and Reels (this matters more than your résumé)
Strong skills in CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar
A good eye for framing, angles, and visual storytelling, and confidence directing a shoot remotely or in person
An understanding of hooks, retention, and native platform style
The ability to match an existing brand’s look rather than imposing your own
Reliability with deadlines and a quick feedback loop

Nice to have
Experience editing for personal brands / content creators
Experience shooting content yourself
