JOB OVERVIEW

I run a small Palestinian food brand in the United States. I film all my own content and I need a part-time editor to take the raw footage and build the rough cut so I can post more often.

This is a long-term part-time role, not a one-off project. I want to build a real working relationship with one editor.

What you'll do:

- Edit vertical short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts (20 to 60 seconds each)
- Take my raw phone footage from a shared Google Drive folder and cut it down to a rough edit, about 80 percent finished
- Trim clips, build the structure, set the pacing, add sound effects
- Deliver the rough cut back to me so I can do the final polish myself

Most videos are cooking and recipe content. Some are me talking to the camera telling a story about the business.

What I need from you:

1. Experience editing short-form vertical video for Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts. Please show me examples you personally edited.
2. Fast, tight pacing. No slow openings. In a recipe video the food needs to be on screen quickly.
3. Good instinct for sound effects — sizzles, chopping, crunching. Food videos live and die on this.
4. You can follow a written format and repeat it consistently. I will give you a detailed brief and reference videos.
5. Reliable communication and on-time delivery. I would rather have honest updates than silence.

Software: I edit in CapCut. Tell me what you use, open to whatever since in the end, you will share me your rough cut and I will polish in CapCut.

Hours and pay: Starting at about ~10 hours per week, pay depending on experience. Hours can increase over time if it goes well. Paid weekly. I'm hiring for the long term. The trial edit is paid and exists so we can both find out if the style is a fit before committing.
