JOB OVERVIEW

High Five Painting is looking for a talented **full-time Short-Form Video Editor** to join our team and help us rapidly grow our social media presence.

We are a fast-growing painting and home service company in Canada. Our team will provide you with **batches of raw video footage, B-roll, project footage, talking-head videos, and other content**. Your job is to turn that footage into high-quality, engaging short-form content for **Instagram Reels, TikTok, and Facebook**.

We are looking for someone who understands more than just how to cut a video. You should understand **what makes short-form content engaging, how to hook attention, maintain retention, and make videos feel native to social media.**

What You'll Be Editing

You'll work with a variety of content, including:

* Project transformations and before/after videos
* Painting project walkthroughs
* Talking-head educational videos
* Tips and homeowner-focused content
* B-roll with text overlays
* Trending / viral-style short-form videos
* Team and behind-the-scenes content
* Customer/project content
* Organic social media posts
* Short-form video ads
* Clips repurposed from longer videos

Some videos may require heavier editing, while others may simply be **B-roll + music + strong text on screen + clean transitions.**

The goal is **high-quality AND high-volume content.**

We want to consistently publish at least **1 piece of content per day initially**, with the goal of scaling toward **2–4+ pieces of short-form content per day** as our content library grows.

Your Responsibilities

* Take batches of raw footage and turn them into finished short-form videos
* Find the strongest clips and moments within longer footage
* Create strong hooks within the first few seconds
* Add captions, text overlays, graphics, music and sound effects
* Use B-roll strategically to keep videos engaging
* Create multiple styles of content instead of making every video look the same
* Follow High Five Painting's branding and visual standards
* Format content properly for Instagram, ---------- and Facebook
* Edit both organic content and paid social ads
* Stay aware of current short-form editing styles and trends
* Organize projects and completed content so we can maintain a high-volume posting schedule

Who We're Looking For

You should have:

* Strong experience editing **Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts or other short-form content**
* A portfolio showing short-form social media editing
* Excellent understanding of pacing, hooks and viewer retention
* Strong English comprehension
* Experience creating clean captions and on-screen text
* Ability to work independently from batches of raw footage
* Strong attention to detail
* Fast turnaround times
* Ability to handle a high volume of content consistently

**Experience working with home service, construction, trades, real estate or similar businesses is a major bonus.**

Editing Software

We're open to your preferred professional editing workflow, including:

* Adobe Premiere Pro
* CapCut
* DaVinci Resolve
* After Effects
* Similar professional editing software

We're much more interested in the **quality and speed of your work** than which software you use.

## What Success Looks Like

Our goal is to make High Five Painting one of the most recognizable home service brands in our market through social media.

We're building a large library of content and want an editor who can help us turn that footage into **a constant stream of professional, entertaining and engaging videos.**

This is intended to be a **long-term, full-time position** for the right person.
